OK Cubs, I can handle you losing to the Rays' best pitcher and all, plus having to go from Toronto to Tampa via Cooperstown for -- let's face it -- NO GOOD REASON.

But now you have to win. Can't double up losses down there when they aren't throwing a good pitcher and we are.

Yeah, Sonnastine pretty much sucks. He's been worse at home. He's been very hittable early in the game. And he's been more hittable from the stretch with runners on base. Put your best 9 hitters in the lineup and try to blow this dude out early.

Sonny is a very streaky pitcher, there isn't much between being very good and very bad. Everything will depend on his command and how he nibbles for strikes to get ahead and uses the curve as his out pitch.

He's the exact opposite pitcher as Kazmir.

These are the pitchers that get to us. Weve beaten or NDd pretty much every ace thrown our way, aside from Volquez who like most everyone, we couldnt touch, but its the Chris Sampsons and such that we havnt been able to get to. Sonnenstine is more of a Chris Sampson than an ace.

Im not saying this guys going to beat us, Im just saying I hope they take him seriously. Same gos for this whole Rays team. Just because nobodys heard of half these guys, doesnt mean they cant hurt you. Got that Z?

...or, you know, that guy we faced last night.

I'm thinking the claim that we struggle against bad pitchers isn't too accurate either. We've pretty much beat up on most pitchers we've faced this year, good and bad. Obviously there've been some exceptions, but the whole notion that we struggle against bad pitchers really doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

I don't worry about our offense going into any game.

Yeah, I think it's just taking people a while to shake off the struggling pitcher = Cubs loss mentality.

Lets knock a few into that aquarium out there in right center!! I'm surprised PETA hasn't jumped on that yet. I mean, if a ball splashes down on one I imagine it would cause damage...or does that tank have a cover?? Anyway go CUBS!!

Just be yourself Old Style...remeber, it's our great beer and they can't have it. Anybody remember those commercials with Dennis Farina?

Im hoping for 1 of those good old fashioned early strikes. a 5 run first would suffice.

Rays score 6 in the first inning.

Why yes. Yes it is.

Chicago's beer is brewed in Milwaukee. How ironic. ;)
