This is what I hate about watching Wisconsin. They go through periods of looking like a hard-nosed and fundamentally sound basketball team that could make noise in the tournament. Then they go through comparable periods of looking like they don't know their rear ends from a hole in the ground.

Like a non-glazed donut.

Turd sandwich is more appropriate, imo.

I love Lavin.

Go marry him if you love him so much.

Lavin is a total goof but he does so many Big Ten games he's kind of our goof. Plus he's kind of fun, does a pretty good job breaking things down and is pretty knowledgable about Big Ten coaches/players.

Every ESPN studio analyst is just hammering the Big Ten and they're using such stupid rationale for their bashing.

I think the rationale that the players aren't very good is pretty reasonable.

Tell that to Louisville, Duke, Kansas, UCLA, Missouri, Florida State, Texas, Butler, Oklahoma State, Boston College, et al.

Manny Harris is as good as anyone in America.

American is shooting it's way into the tournament. Up 18 on Holy Cross in the Patriot League final.

yeah they had a guy who was knocking down threes from the parking lot. we played terribly too - apparently our forwards don't know they can take it up without double pumping 4 times and our guards don't know that they don't have to pass the ball to a guy who's on a pick and roll if he doesn't get open on the roll.

oh well, american is basically graduating their entire team after this year, so they can go back to being an irrelevant school of 80% eurotrash students.

When the highest rated pro prospect in the league is BJ Mullens it doesn't speak well about the depth of talent in the conference. Obviously NBA projectability and how good the teams are on the college level are two different things but if you compare the talent level of the Big 10 now to what it was just a couple years ago I think it's fair to say the overall talent level is pretty down.

The best talents in the conference are fringe lottery guys at best (Mullens and Turner). The Big 10 won't be drafting many players into the NBA over the couple years.
