Stephen Curry and Davidson in trouble. Down 3 with a minute left.

They were down 5 with a minute and College of Charleston blocked a shot. While his guard controlled the ball the cat that blocked the shot stood there taunting the Davidson guy and got t'd up. Curry made both free throws.

Jereme Richmnd gets two Ts and now will miss his next game. Sounds like it wasn't really a huge deal, but with the trouble he had last year this isn't a good thing.

Now Michigan State is safe.

That spares us quite a bit of Curry knob-slobbing come tourney time.

The 2nd was from hanging on the rim. I'm not worried.

apparently the first call was questionable. richmond and another kid went on the floor with richmond getting jumped on. he pushed the kid off him because the guy didn't want to get up. the other guy went right to the ref and started to complain, the ref blew the whistle a few seconds after the whole thing had transpired. most everyone in the crowd thought the technical was on the other guy because he was yelling at the ref.

Big Ten goes

8/9 Minn vs NW - MSU

7/10 Mich vs Iowa -Illinois

6/11 PSU vs IU -Purdue

4/5 Wisconsin vs. Ohio State

The bottom half of the bracket could get crazy or could hold to form. I wouldn't be completely shocked to see Saturday's game be 6 vs. 7/10.

Michigan is probably a 54/46 type favorite against Iowa. I don't think Illinois is immune from an upset by either. Illinois can lock you up but as we've seen can struggle offensively. It will be a 55 possession game and if Iowa/Michigan are hitting from the outside it will likely be a 2 score game or less.

PSU should roll past IU. They could completely remove any bubble discussion by beating Purdue and that's certainly possible.

Penn State beat Indiana by three points in Happy Valley last weekend.

Yeah I forgot about that. Shouldn't have said "roll" but I still give them a solid edge.

Well, yeah, they're almost certainly going to win. Indiana's not good. But I don't expect IU to get rolled either.

it's possible, but penn st basically is playing two road games in that situation.

Yeah I'd give a 22-9 (10-8) team a solid edge over a 6-24 (1-17) team too :)

And the first game was between 6-8 most of the second half and was within 4 with under a minute to play in the game.

I like the Penn State matchup for IU. They aren't a team that is going to completely take IU out of their offense and they are a poor free throw shooting team for when IU has to reach because of their lack of athleticism. No team is a good matchup for a terrible team, but this one gives IU a chance, which would not have been the case if they had drawn Wisconsin or Ohio State.

The questions become if Dumes comes back (if he doesn't, IU just won't be able to score consistently enough to win) and if IU can outshoot Penn State from the 3 point line.

If I had to guess, I would say something like 68-54 Penn State victory, but that's only because Crean will play it out the final whistle. It will be a 7 point game or so before Crean goes nuts with fouling even after the game is long since over. I don't see Penn State falling into the trap when they're playing for their season though.

I think he'll be back next year.

Beating Penn State would set up a IU-Purdue rematch on Friday. I'd probably skip work and drive down to Indy for that game.

Now I don't expect to beat PSU but at least that is a game where I can see IU staying close and having a chance to pull out an upset in the final minutes.

I just want that 7th win darn it. :x

this might make you not hate duke for about 10 minutes

Yeah maybe if it wasn't another fluff piece by ESPN about Duke. How bout they quit shoving them down everyone else's throats? Maybe then people would stop hating Duke.

Chester Fraizer lost his dad last year. I'm sure he misses him as much as Nolan Smith does his dad. They are probabbly just late getting around to that article. Pretty much every team deals with issues like this, but when it's at Duke we get these type stories from ESPN. Oh you shouldn't hate them, something bad happened to them.
