Why the hell are they storming the court? Yeesh.

Buzzer beater that might have put them in the tournament I guess.

Just an awful display offensively the last 5 minutes. Didn't run the offense, couldn't hit free throws, couldn't get rebounds.

cant wait until we knock them back out of the tourney on saturday. :)

We owe them for the game we should have won at their place.

I really just can't believe Illinois blew two 10-point leads to PSU in two games in the last 5 minutes of each. By doing the same stupid things.

Holy crap, Josh Shipp has scored the last 15 points for UCLA and has 20 with 2:39 left in the first half.

ETA: 22 at the half. Oregon State only has 19!

i told you we'd lose, didn't i? we cannot beat psu in any sport. i could see that loss coming from a mile away, maybe this will get us pumped up, who knows?

Hey I just saw on the ticker your women beat them tonight in the Big Ten Tournament.

That evens it out. Right?

I will be pulling for Iowa, because that would be grand. I actually work with an Iowa grad and he took me for free to the Purdue/Iowa football game this year - so I always lend him my support when possible.

Anyone watching Cal/Arizona? They're honoring Lute at halftime and televising the whole deal. When Steve Kerr was introduced as the current GM of the Phoenix Suns there were a lot of boos. Tough crowd.

Lute has some real shakes going on.

funny how Sulley didn't mention the blown goal-tending call OR the blown shot clock violation OR the non-call when Illinois was still in their backcourt with 23 seconds on the shot clock.

That said, nice to see PSU make up for those calls and that Battle made the game winner despite a terrible shooting night. I only saw the second half, but it was a bizarrely officiated game; both teams were beating the hell out of each other down low, but they were calling ticky-tack fouls left and right. Strange.

Battle was completely exhausted by the end there. If PSU/Illinois is a rematch in the BTT, Illinois is at a HUGE advantage: they'll have 8 days off (while PSU still has a road game Sunday). Battle can't play this many minutes 3 days in a row in the BTT and expect to be productive.

I'm really afraid of a let down game @Iowa now.

pringle hasn't missed a three all night. what a joke.

battle missed 50 of them. frazier was 3-5 and he normally sucks out there.

sat 4th row from the court, atmosphere for the game was great. storming the court was a lot of fun - i never did it at holy cross because the team was God-awful and the head coach was a drunk when i was there; penn state has actually had some nice wins (like beating michigan st last year) but i haven't been at those.

Either Northridge is pretty good or Davis sucks (maybe a bit of both). Either way, UCD got stomped by 27 at home tonight. They're not winning the Big West tournament.

they called time out with 31 seconds. it's ten seconds to get across half court from when the ball is inbounded, not 10 seconds from the 35 seconds when the possession began.

in related news, i don't know if i can sit in the student section any more. i wanted to just yell at tisdale all game and call him ugly and a goofy bastard who needed to eat a burger, but instead i found myself yelling back at idiot students who bitch about every call that's made, even though most of them are right.

Sulley, I believe we can take comfort in the fact that the Illini have had a far better season than many of us could have expected. 23-8 overall, 11-7 in the Big Ten and 4 or 5 seed? I thought perhaps, NIT this season, then back into the tournament and a top ten team 2010 and beyond.

As for PSU? I look upon it as an anomaly, the Nittany Lions better bask in it while they can because beating the Illini in BB is not going to happen in the near future.*

*No including the B10 Tournament in which I hope they do meet again.

The officiating was dog crap both ways all night. The out of bounds where Davis kicked it and UI got the ball, the traveling calls on Tisdale when he was getting mugged, and just generally very inconsistent on calling fouls all night. I thought the tending call was ok, UI got nailed for a worse one against MSU last Sunday.

I just hope MSU beats Purdue this weekend so we don't have to play Sparty before the finals if we can get that far. A trip to the finals will help seeding, although I never really think getting a 4 or 5 seed is that great of a deal. I'd almost rather be a 6 because all the teams after about the top 6-7 are pretty equal and don't really scare me all that much.
