I assume most people already saw this, but here's John Scheyer w/ the most blatant travel ever and not getting called.

The commentator was screaming for a 5-second call the entire time as well.

Scheyer was blatantly fouled well before he traveled. On this play, two wrongs make a right.

If that's a "blatant" foul, then Tyler Hansbrough should go to the free throw line about 10 times more than he already does, and the entire opposing team would foul out in the first half. And you don't want that. Plus, it would be FOUR wrongs, not two (one for the "foul," three for the travels).

John Brown holding a rifle and a national championship. Awesome.

John Brown was such a bad ass.

he really was, but i have a sneaking suspicion that a lot of kansas students wouldn't actually like him all that well if they knew much about him. i personally think violent uprisings are awesome, but i'm somewhat outside the norm, sadly.

Yeah, you're probably correct.

I'm pretty close to a pacifist and yet I can't help but think he was a bad ass.

The most shocking thing to me about John Brown is that Thoreau praised him.

Yes, Tyler Hansbrough should go to the line 10 more times a game than his ACC-leading pace.

KU fans have a pretty good handle on him, I think, and they still dig him. But I think it's only because of the anti-Missouri/anti-slavery connection. In a vacuum, I agree; they probably wouldn't be huge fans.

And you guys thought Illinois-Indiana fighting was annoying.

notice the common theme in the two fights....

Between Illinois-Indiana and Duke-UNC?

sorry, I misread.

I understood what you meant, but I could see how people could be confused. The Illinois-Missouri fighting has created a lot more posts than the Duke-UNC sniping and is the only true rival to the Illinois/Indiana battle on here.

Yeah, but the Illinois-Missouri fighting seems a lot more light-hearted to me. I can't imagine anyone being too annoyed by it.

I didn't say that he should - I said that if what happened to Scheyer is considered a blatant foul, then Hansbrough WOULD go to the line literally every time he's under the basket. He gets manhandled much worse than that all the time without getting calls. Which is fine. But that was definitely a travel by Scheyer, and the so-called foul that took place beforehand does nothing to mitigate the fact that VT got hosed bad by the refs there.

As an aside, I think the few UNC-Duke people on this board do a decent job of keeping the sniping to a minimum (this post excluded, obviously). We understand that this is basically a thread about the midwest, especially the Big 10, and Raisin talking endlessly with himself about UCLA.

What a horrible first half of ND/Nova. ND looks bad, Nova looks worse, the refs are horrible (albeit largely in our favor)...that just wasn't fun to watch.

I hate this team. I'd honestly rather be Indiana right now. Notre Dame flat-out quit on this game.

And you guys thought Illinois-any other team's fans fighting was annoying.

illinois, indiana, purdue, and mizzou fans post more in this thread than those of any other teams. neither purdue nor indiana play mizzou.

You and your logic.

I prefer my Purdue-everyone else arguments.

If IU was actually good or even medicore I'm sure IU and Purdue fans would rival any other two team hatred. I hate IU in every way shape and form. When walking on campus if I see an IU anything I feel compelled to trash talk the person (I normally hold it back).
