here's where I make an embarrassing admission. I like Steve Lavin as a color guy.

I really like him, but figured it was cause he's a Big 10 homer.

I've never really noticed any homer tendencies from him. I just think he knows the game and delivers his knowledge in a really amusing way.

Steve Lavin's announcing right now? How could he do that when he was coaching in Tucson?

Well Purdue's offense has officially derailed completely. Can't hit any shots outside of the paint unless its Moore or Johnson.

Hummel played but rarely went in the paint offensively. He would go down for rebounds but never tried to post up or drive meaning his back is really really bad. The one time I did see him drive he grabbed his back while running to the other end of the court.

That was seriously the worst last 2 minutes I have ever seen, and thats saying something.

We sure picked a hell of a game to shoot 5% from three.

No kidding. If we hit our open looks (Bawinkel, I'm looking at you) we probably win by double digits. Of course Purdue missed a lot of open looks too.

I really can't be upset at all about that loss. We played great defense, rebounded and took care of the ball. We're playing without 3 starters. Tucker was our leading scorer, Tate is our leading rebounder and Peterson is our only PG and leading assist man.

We shot 2-19 and missed a boatload of open shots. Gatens, Bawinkel and Davis shot 3-22. We lost by 4. In fairness, Purdue missed open shots too, but we had knockdown shooters missing wide open looks consistently at home.

Iowa is not a good team but injuries have completely derailed the season. Hell half the guys playing are hurt. We could/should have had an NIT season.

So I still think its doubtful but I'm increasingly getting worried about JaJuan Johnson jumping early. He has really improved this year and is probably going to make first team since there is no top center in the big ten right now. Today he made at least two jumpers from a foot inside the arc (one with the man in his face). Not many shot blocking 6'10" guys can do that. I still think he needs another year to one grow a bit more and two perfect his shot but he could elect to go after this season since he would probably still be a late first round pick based on potential.

One step forward. One step back. Rinse. Repeat.

Story of the season.

SIU, lol.

First time I've ever left a game early; with six minutes left to boot. Just embarrassing. I miss the days when we never used to lose at home. Now our rival is kicking our ass by 20 without a problem.

I would think this would be a good game to get meaningful minutes for Legion.

I'd like to get some minutes with Legion and Meacham out there at the same time. IU had a hard time covering Trent on the perimeter last game, might as well get a DMac, Legion, Trent lineup for a stretch to give them 3 shooters to try and keep up with. Hard to complain about much right now though.

Tisdale has a rebound or 2, so Sulley can't even complain about that.
