It's a shame Brackins had to waste his performance today because no one else showed up on offense. Not that the rest of the team is that good, but 22% from the floor and 14% from 3 isn't going to get it done. The B12 North is pretty bad right now, but a 22 game schedule isn't happening, and I don't see a logical realignment idea. Even if there was, it's a long term solution to a short term problem. Only recently has the North become so bad that a difference is apparent. Once they find some quality coaches the gap will narrow.

Do you think McDermott is the guy for ISU?

Top of my head, his recruiting has been better than I've expected. They've gotta get into the upper half of the North though. CU is just garbage now and there's not a single great team in there.

I'm pretty sure Brockman is going to set the record for most free throw attempts in a game.

Meanwhile Aboya is the one bleeding from all the elbows hitting him.

I'm willing to give him a bit of a pass right now because he's had a ridiculous amount of player turnover since he's been here, but I haven't been impressed with his in game coaching ability. He just doesn't seem to make adjustments when they're needed. He's done well on the recruiting trail, but if they don't show results soon it won't matter.

When we come back...We'll focus on something besides the damn game we're showing. Show this [expletive] on sportscenter so I don't have to watch it, nobody wants to listen to Doris Burke wax poetic on fouling late in a game.

Man, what a slow, plodding, first 35 minutes this game has been. I can't believe a team can shoot 55% from the field and still just score 55 in the game through 35 minutes.

We're not running our offense until there is 10 seconds left in the shot clock. It's probably my biggest complaint with Weber's in game coaching. He always goes to the slow down the last 4 minutes, and we wind up not getting great shots because of it.

Keep an eye on ESPN, because you'll get to see not only Erin Andrews but probably the end of ND's 45-game homecourt win streak. UConn's going to be very tough to beat. I do hope that Harangody at least abuses that overrated ninny Thabeet.

I, of course, will be covering the far superior West Noble-Carroll girls basketball game.

Andy starting to realize the downside of having a job.

UK won again as Meeks scored 27, but the big story was Harris fainting at half, he wasn't feeling well so it was prob. due to dehydration or dizzyness moreso than when he carted earlier this year.

17-3 after last year. How bad were Shaun Pruitt and Brian Randle?

They weren't bad college basketball players, they just weren't a good fit for a motion offense. I'll always be a fan of Brian Randle cause he was a genuinely nice guy every time I talked to him, and took way too much flack for his play.

Beyond Brian and Shaun not fitting in the motion, Frazier spent most of the year hurt, DMac, Davis, and Tis were developing as freshmen, and we were a tremendously unlucky team.

I always said last year's team was not nearly as their record showed, but even my most optimistic estimate had us as an 11 seed in the tourney. This has been pretty amazing.

Yeah this has really made me rethink my opinion of Weber. I definately am glad he's our coach as I think our team, while very improved, has no buisness being 17-3.

First time all year I've complained about officiating but Iowa is getting homered by Penn State and still up 29-22.

Apparently it's illegal to breathe on Jamelle Cornley. He got the same treatment out there last year. Jermain Davis is running for a loose ball, gets hip-checked to the floor by Pringle yet gets called for the foul and 2 free throws for Stanley.

Gatens, Palmer and Peterson all had to play more limited minutes because of foul trouble. We're playing great d and they're missing some shots but I don't know if we can win this game if the calls don't turn around.

randle was a heckuva defender though. except for those 2 dumb fouls he would get 40 ft from the basket every game.

big props to weber this year. just think if we had a legitimate post player?

he gets that treatment against most teams, but that's more because he's stronger than everyone. not that it does him any good since he's a bricklayer at the free throw line.

that's not exactly what happened but it should've been a no call.

penn state needs to actually drive the ball and move the ball around rather than wait til about 5 seconds and then chuck up a closely-guarded three.

Just think if EJ would have just decommitted right away and we could have got one of Manny Harris or E'Twaun Moore who were both rumored to be leaning our way. :banghead:

I think it's fairly accurate. He was leaning and they were both in contact with each other. Then Pringle threw a shoulder and hip into him and knocked Davis to the floor. Yet Jermain gets the foul? That was an awful call and an automatic two.
