because it's not about making the tournament "better", it's about applying the same rules to everyone. The NCAA decided they couldn't live without the 9th place Big East team in the tournament so they told two conferences "hey, sorry, you suck, so have fun in Dayton". it's just about being fair with the rules.

I don't want the rules changed to make the tournament "better." I just don't want them changed to make the tournament worse.

We'll agree to disagree. I agree that it stinks for that team, it just doesn't bother me much. At least not enough to want one of the best 40 teams in the country (who could do some damage) removed.

we might have talked about this last year, but I think it's ridiculous that two conference tournament winners have to play the play-in game each year. I don't care if they're from the worst two RPI conferences, they earned their way to the weekend games. Make the play-in game be between two bubble teams

one could also argue that thursday is not on the weekend. but i dont like your idea. make the play in game between two teams from bad conferences that shouldnt have won their conference tourney.

what if the regular season winner of every "bad conference" wins their conference tourney in a given year?

well then someone gets screwed. this would be ok with me, no 16 has ever won anyway.

then why not go all BCS on the tourney and kick out all the "bad conferences" and fill the field up with the majors?

Indiana vs Penn State this evening. I know all the PSU fans look at this game as a sure win but as an IU fan, I have to find some optimism given it is a home game and while PSU is certainly improved, they might be more upsettable (new word) than some of the other teams we have played so far.

Maybe.

Notre Dame just isn't very good. They shouldn't be ranked on Monday. You can't be called a good team when you're as unbelievably pathetic as they are on defense.

Syracuse just ran them out of the gym. I don't know if it's because ND was gassed or if they just didn't have the athletes to keep up with them, but they looked incredibly slow out there. Harangody was afraid to go strong to the hoop. He needed to take it at Syracuse's big man to get him in some foul trouble, or at least tire him out.

Gerald Henderson has really turned it on lately. He carried our offense in the last two games and again today. He had 17 first half points and ended with 23. We were already very good when he wasn't playing well. I never imagined we would be this good, this year.

GAH Doris Burke. She is the worst.

And why in the hell is ABC showing Kansas/Colorado instead of Wake/Clemson. Does anyone outside of those campuses want to watch that game?

Most people in Big XII country that are getting Texas @ Texas Tech (like me) are watching that one right now.
