As much as I have been critical of Soriano and think the Cubs are often a better team without him in the lineup, I think this is a bad time to lose him heading into interleague play. In all honesty, it seems as though Cubs pitchers focus so hard on not letting the big guys beat thm that they forget that the Greg Nortons, Corky Millers, and Will Nieves of the world are capable of hitting that perfectly placed meatball once in a while.

I just can't see him back in under 6 weeks. No, I'm not a medical expert. But I've had a broken hand before. I had to wear a cast for 4-5 weeks, then after it was taken off my hand & wrist looked like it went on a hunger strike. It took a few weeks to build the muscle back up before I felt any kind of normal. Edited June 12, 2008 by Soul

I'm reading on medical sites that things like this are 4-6 weeks in a cast and then anywhere from 2-4 weeks of rehab to regain strength. It might 6-10 weeks before he returns. So anywhere from Late July to Late August

Play Hoffpauir every day. Only use fontenot for a game or two a week to give Hoff or DeRo a day off.
