We have 21 balls in play and three hits tonight, by my quick math. Maddux or not, that's lucky.

I wonder what Maddux's BABIP would have been here for a whole career. Not .144, but still

You're not going to win many games when you only score 1 run. The offense was pathetic tonight.

To be fair, we were facing Maddux, who was very lucky, and who benefited greatly from his home ballpark.

We waited out Saito and beat him, we can get one off Hoffman.

What did I tell you about Greene, siddown

Fontenot, Soriano, and Theriot are all 0-1 against Hoffman.

Lee though is 5 of 12 with a HR and 2 2B's.

Ah well, just keep winning the series.

I was really hoping for revenge for 2006

Can't .. we already lost a game against the Pads this year.

Oh. Curses.

.294. Nobody is completely immune to the BABIP mojo except for knuckleballers.

Has Hoffman ever blown a save vs us.

yes, one of the two games i've ever attended at wrigley. and the cubs were horrendous that year (2002)

That's probably why I don't remember it than.

I'm just annoyed that we even used Marmol if we were going to keep Lilly in. Now Marmol has another .2 innings pitched and we are going to lose the game.

Amazingly, I do. The big hit was a blooper down the line, iirc. No idea why I remember that.
