At this point, Im just not seeing enough arguement not to make Marmol the closer.

Outside of the fact that Marmol would prolly NOT get too many chances to close out games, seeing as he would have to come in a preserve the game after KW/Howry or Weurtz, blows it? Atleast Marmol gives Wood a chance to save the game, so the game is on Wood. But if the roles are reverse, I don't know how many games Marmol would get to save with Wood/Howry and Weurtz is the hot spots of the game.

The answer is still for Marmol and Wood to split close role.

Marmol for 1-run leads and Wood for 2-3 run leads.

Haha, like any manager in the MLB would ever do that.

Is this 4 or 5 blown saves now? He's on pace for some kind of record.

Marmol for closer please. Let's see what Wood can do in the 7th and 8th for a while.

It's 4 and his first in 7 tries. It's also nowhere near any sort of record.

He is attempting to become the next LaTroy Hawkins though.

They used to. Or at least, the best reliever would come into a tight game in any inning and finish it out.

Well at least Lou managed his bench properly so we have plenty of pinch hitters. Oh...

Our best pinch hitter is still on the bench.

His last name starts with a Z

Marmol can't be our closer. Reason being, he can pitch possibly 2 innings for us and get us out of a huge jam (which is what he's done the entire year and 1/4 he's been here). If he was our closer and we are in jam before the 9th, who are we going to use to KNOW we can get out of it? Wood is just going to have to get more comfortable in this role. Edited by haubrich91

Yeah, but he's on pace for about 15 BS. I don't know the record.

I would try him in the 7th or 8th for a while. He might be better.
