...and not something in a way that would be demeaning towards homosexuals...or Felix Pie.

This is the best I can come up with so far:

- At least this time the Cubs bought low on a player.

centerfield at wrigley is smaller than petco.

with a short leash, this deal could be fantastic this year.

this might keep the cubs from trading for Griffey and taking him up on that 16 million option.

He won't be wearing a Cardinal jersey, so he'll probably suck and will be released quickly.

The only one I can think of is our Sportscenter web gem chances just doubled because Edmonds makes sooo many routine catches a diving occassion and ESPN rewards him for it.

Something Optimistic?

Well, it sure seems like Piniella doesn't really care for him.

“I never saw him. We played San Diego three or four times and he never played against us. I don’t know. We’re going on past history and we’re going on what our scouts say. That’s it. We’re going to give him an opportunity, assuming he passes his physical, and we’ll go from there. That’s all we can do.”

Is this a low-risk gamble by the Cubs?

“What did Jim (Hendry) say?” Piniella replied. “Whatever Jim said is fine with me.”

It could certainly be a short tenure with the Cubs for Mr. Craptober.

I wasn't sure if the Edmonds move came from Lou or Jim, but I guess this answers that question.

Ok, I'll take a serious stab at it: it might finally push Fukudome ahead of the run producers in the lineup.

I feel dirty.

Maybe he's been juicing like a mutha since last Friday?

Shouldn't be worse against RHP than Reed Johnson?

That's the best I got...

you know what i dont think im worried about him hitting and fielding, i think he will do ok, i just worry about fans booing him and saying trash and that making him not want to play here and for what so he can get booed, honestly its not going to hurt us, if he sucks then he sucks and we bring reed back to start most of the games and bring pie back, if he can be decent, hes got a good arm and decent defense speically in wrigley, he also could hit better in wrigley since its not petco..

the way i look at it, quit bitching, pe ople bitched about reed johnson and hes done decent, so let it happen then if he sucks then bitch :flame:
