I love the stupid hit and run.

Especially when the batter thinks it's good to take a called third strike on a fastball right down the middle.

Dempster returns to the mean.

Dempster pitched well that inning, all 3 runs are unearned.

Yahoo has one of the runs being earned.

I thought it was, but Len said all 3 coming in from the break.

Based on how the inning went I would think all three would be unearned. MLB says that one was earned but that doesn't really make sense. If Fontenot makes the play and gets one out, that would have been the second out of the inning. Encarnacion walked, which would have loaded the bases regardless of which player Fontenot got out, and then Dunn struck out which would have been the third out with no runs scoring.

Encarnacion walked w/ bases loaded.

I know. IF Fontenot doesn't botch the grounder and gets one out, there are two runners on base and Encarnacion's walk doesn't bring in a run, it would have loaded the bases (with the score still 0-0). Dunn then struck out which would have been the third out of the inning.

How anyone can say that Pie is ready to contribute in the major leagues is beyond me. Hey, we all want him to succeed, but he's just not a smart enough hitter right now.

Low pitch rings up Pie. Felix gets more bogus called thirds than any player I have ever seen.

Some of these strike calls have been questionable but Fontenot's was definitely a strike. Pie's looked pretty good as well.

Pie is overmatched and looking clueless. Please send him to AAA

Yeah because everyone else has been hammering Cueto for us. How about we give him a month straight to play instead of only playing him against right handers with electric stuff. Lou is setting him up to fail.

Thom have something against Pie?

He hates all cubs. I think he wanted to stay at WGN, but they figured out that he sucks at announcing and didn't ask him to return.

Half the lineup struck out.
