While, Cueto tries to turn it around against a team that is very friendly to rookie pitchers.

 

If the recent trend continues, this will be my only gamethread start this time around, as the Cubs have lost 2 games by 3 or fewer runs followed by a blowout win of 6 or more, for about 2 weeks now. Cincy sucks. Let's start another trend like early in the season. That was better than this.

Cleanup hitter Aramis Ramirez, who hasn't played since taking a pitch off his left wrist Friday night, might be out another day or so.

 

He said before the game it still hurt to rotate the wrist, and he still had trouble with his grip strength. He hoped to swing a bat for the first time since being hit, off a tee in the batting cage, just before game time.

 

 

Why do I get the feeling that another X-Ray will produce a small hair-line fracture?

If Aramis does have to miss any major time, I hope Lou will have the good sense to bat Soto cleanup, as well as the decency nail Pujols on the elbow next time we meet those pieces of trash. Just make sure its Marquis pitching, in case it results in a suspension.

We suck, Aramis will need his hand amputated, Dempster will remember he's Dempster and Lou will still be a dumbass and play Theriot and Reed over Cedeno and Pie. We lose.

Pie probably sits again today and then starts vs. Aaron Harang (one of the best pitchers in the NL) and then again against Webb and Haren this weekend and Lou will have justification that Felix is struggling.

Just wanted to point out we will probably be missing Webb this weekend. He is scheduled to throw Thusday. It's looking like Haren, Scherzer and Mr. "12-0 1.98 ERA lifetime vs. Cubs" Randy Johnson

If I were allowed a say (and Ramirez is still unavailable), I'd go with

 

2B Fontenot (he's been on fire lately...this is an instance where riding the hot streak might just be OK)

3B Cedeno

C Soto

LF Soriano

CF Pie

SS Theriot

P Dempster

 

DeRosa and Johnson are playing like they need a day off. Pie and Cedeno are playing like they need a day on.
