We go to the 2nd worst team in the NL, and and lose 2 of 3, with also being shut out by some no-name pitcher? Not a great weekend for the Cubs. The Cubs better bounced back against the Brewers, and cream those guys. Cause losing the series to Washing is really embarrassing.

the cast of characters on here has shown all the nuance of a brick wall.

Oh, the irony.

oh please do explain

Theriot has been playing poorly lately.

"But he has an .870 OPS."

Cedeno is more talented, plays better defense and is hitting better.

"But he has an .870 OPS."

Theriot tailed off badly last year.

"But he has an .870 OPS."

Theriot was given all of last year to prove his 1 1/2 months of good play wasn't a fluke.

"But he has an .870 OPS....and Lou will bench him"

Lou didn't last year.

"But he has an .870 OPS."

well this team seems to be on the fast track to the bottom. I havnt seen them play worse in a long, long, time, and now were about to play our supposed arch rivals. Good luck.

How do we get our hands on Brian Roberts now? Im thinking this team would be a hell of a lot better with DeRosa and Theriot on the bench, seeing as they're not very good baseball players.

And I know I'm overreacting, but I really bit hard on the Cubs being amazing during this latest hot streak

Yah, I know, rite? At least we'll probably get the #1 draft pick next year.

Absolutely. And the bottom fell out so suddenly. one moment, they pull of an extra inning win, which youd think would give them som big time momentum, next thing you know, they get shut down 3 of 4 games and give the Nationals their 2nd series win of the season.

We'll know in a week or two what kind of team we have. We have the Brewers for three, Cards for three, Reds for three, D-Backs for 3 and Padres for 4. That's a tough little stretch there.

Oh, the irony.

oh please do explain

Theriot has been playing poorly lately.

"But he has an .870 OPS."

that was not my response. i referenced his past week's statistics and it was much better than a .870 OPS for that period.

Cedeno is more talented, plays better defense and hit hitting better.

"But he has an .870 OPS."

i made mention of Cedeno playing concurrently, making this mostly a moot argument.

Theriot tailed off badly last year.

"But he has an .870 OPS."

i dont see where i made this reply to that point.

also curious is that nobody is tearing apart Dempster and Reed Johnson. it seems as everybody has been reactionary to their hot starts in spite of indications that they'd both be far less productive players. the determination to loathe those two players must not be so strong.

Theriot was given all of last year to prove his 1 1/2 months of good play wasn't a fluke.

"But he has an .870 OPS....and Lou will bench him"

riding the hot hand. a very atypical thing for managers to do. but this response is different from the rest rendering it irrelevant.

Lou didn't last year.

"But he has an .870 OPS."

actual response: lou's fault.

your reading comprehension leaves a lot to be desired.

Hes great against the Reds. that I'll give him. He was pretty mediocre before the reds series, so we'll have to see what he does in upcoming weeks.

Lannan tall lanky LH'er, struggles with command, throws a good two seamer (upper 80s) with sink and will throw a change to RH'ers. Doesn't have much of a breaking ball to LH'ers.

It wasn't often that I could say this before this year, I expect the Cubs to work deep counts against him.

The key of the game for the Cubs offense will be how well he keeps the ball down. If he's on, the Cubs will be rolling over the ball and grounding out to 3B and SS. Hopefully, all those DBs down the 3B line are an indication of what'll happen today.

If I was charting the game, I would note the location of his FB moreso than anything else.
