We've seen Cubbie baseball as bad as its been in a loooong time 3 of these past 4 games. Alfonso Soriano where art thou?

Hopefully we can squeak out a win in the Brewers series before quietly fading to 4th place in the next few weeks.

Every team goes through little stretches like this, especially on the road. They get to go home and regroup on their off day tomorrow and will still be 16-9 and in first. I'm disappointed with their performance today, but it's not the end of the world.

Eh the bright side is we could have won at least 9 in a row. It's just too bad that St' Louis continues to think they are a good team and win at such a high clip. I really wish they would wake up and let us and Milwaukee duke it out. But, I bet they hang around for most of the year.

anyone else find it interesting the Theriot would play the whole game at SS with Cedeno at 2B, then, in the 9th, Fontenot would replace Theriot defensively, but move to 2B? That implies that Cedeno is the better SS, right? Am I losing my mind or is this stupid?

Yes, but Cedeno is better at 2B than Theriot as well.

Fontenot is better than Theriot?

Ok, just kidding.

No it's because Lou isn't going to move his starting Shortstop so Ronny starts the game at 2B. Rest assured he will be right back on the bench when Soriano gets back. But, he will get to sit next to Felix at least.

but given the choice between the better defender at SS or 2B, you have to pick SS, right?

I just find it curious, esp since Cedeno used to be the one replaced late in games.

I know it doesnt and wont matter, but wouldnt it make more sense to PH Fontenot first then Ward because Ward actually has power?

Never underestimate sneaky power...
