OK This is the 4th time I believe in the last 4 games which we had the bases loaded with 0 outs and only scored 1 run or less. This is something that has gone on with this team for years.

What is the run expectancy with bases loaded 0 outs and the top of the order due up?

Well, second time this game the Rockies scored and the Cubs immediately got it back. Can't keep doing it much longer in this game, though.

You've got to be kidding me. Same thing happened yesterday. Ridiculous.

Methinks some baserunning drills may be in order for certain members of this team.

You can't blame the baserunner in that situation can you?

Both of those, especially today's, were just a matter of bad luck rather than poor baserunning.

That's what i was thinking. unless he was standing on top of the bag and didnt take a lead off there was not much he could have done.

Please tell me you're joking. I mean, I hate Fontenot as much as anyone, but there was absolutely nothing he could do there. He's gotta take a big secondary lead so he can break up the DP on a ground ball and the ball was hit hard right to the 1st base bag.

You guys are right. That was the perfect time for a squeeze.

It's tough to call a squeeze when everybody in the stadium thinks it's coming. If it's the 9th inning maybe, but in the 8th I say get as many runs as you can.

The Cubs, coming into today, had 32 runs scored from 35 chances with the bases loaded. That's not bad.

Normal run expectancy is 2.3 or 2.4 runs in that situation.

Probably depends on whether or not your top of the order consists of two bad baseball players.

What a horrible approach here so far. You've got the guy on the ropes and you're swinging at the first two pitches

Were they not strikes?

Not all strikes are good pitches to hit.

I would gladly have taken a run there with DLee/Ramirez coming up with 2 outs.
