When, if ever, are we gonna see Geo swap places with DeRosa?

I know DeRosa's stats (huge sample) look a lot better than Geo's right now, but Geo has hit into bad luck and has been absolutely crushing the ball. Personally, I'd rather see him up after Fuku than DeRosa.

I agree, but the numbers will have to show up first. No way Lou just moves him because he hits the ball hard into tough luck outs. I just hope that this is the biggest problem with Lou's lineups for a while.

Does this game really start in an hour and a half? It's 9 in the morning here....this just feels weird.

There is no freaking way it was 9 in the morning in Canton, OH, when you posted that.

That hasn't been updated in a few months, I'm in California. Sorry, confusion.

Still doesn't feel right :x

Someone's going deep twice. I'm not sure who, but it's going to happen.

Mike Fontenot?

Jason Bay

Nate McLouth

i picked up McLouth in my fantasy league before i made a couple of trades because i needed bag...the kid is friggin good...i know it is early...but color me impressed and happy for the pirates...the one team in the central that no matter how hard i try...will never be able to dislike

So has Pie offiically fallen out of favor with Lou and Co. now?

Seems to be that way, unless his wrist still hurts from being hit by a pitch. He did get in the game for defensive purposes yesterday though, so who knows. Kind of ridiculous that they didn't even give him a week into the season before they benched him if he has in fact been benched.

How the hell are we only two games out of first?

Okay I'll give you credit on this one. I don't think many other people got the Ted Lilly from the pictures.

I think it's more likely that he's sitting because Gorzo is a lefty.

Pie was never going to start against lefties once we got Johnson, which is fine by me. We've been hearing that Pie might've gotten the last two days off in part because of the sore wrist from the beaning.

We won't really get to see if he's fallen out of favor until two games from now, because I believe we're facing lefties both today and the next game.

Supposedly his hand was still hurting him. Supposedly.

I understand we're "playing the percentages" here, but how the hell is Pie supposed to learn to hit lefties if he never faces them? Seems pretty counter-intuitive to me.

I dont know if Felix has so much fallen out of favor as Chin Pubes has fallen into favor.

He has to have some success against righties first is what I'm guessing Lou thinks. If he's struggling against righties, he's really going to struggle seeing the ball against lefties. What were his splits in the minors?

I can live with him never learning to hit lefties if we always have a reasonably good righty option in CF. Nothing wrong with a good l/r platoon, especially when the "main" guy is a lefty.

His usual days off will just come against the lefties.

Right around the Modesto/Merced area.

I'm not sure one learns to hit lefties in the major leagues. If he didn't learn to hit them before, why should we think he will learn to hit them now?

If Cedeno does bad today, I reserve the right to start calling him Rnny Ceen again

He's batting .500 so far.
