another righty so we will probably see Pie again.

Get us out of the cellar and most importantly win my first game thread start ever.

EDIT: Soriano will leadoff (yay) with Theriot second (ugh)

I'm not pushing the panic button, but I expect us to lose every game Dempster starts and that's not going to change just because it'd be nice to get the win.

Dempster is going to be solid. 6 or 7 IP, 2 or less runs. I've got a feeling.

That would earn him more time in the rotation. Do not want.

15-12 win would be ideal. Dempster gives up all 12 in the first, with Lieber coming in and no hitting the Crew the rest of the way.

We seem to always kill Dave Bush in the 1st inning, so I expect we'll score 4 in the first, but it won't matter because Dempster will give up about 12 in 4 innings pitched.

we are due for an early season "score 4 in the first then watch the lead get whittled away before losing 5-4" game

Hope the Cubs win 1-0, because sadly Dave Bush is on my fantasy team.

Stop talking about whose on your fantasy team it doesn't matter, and now that you say it and because I'm a jerk I hope Bush gets smacked like no other, like 12 earned runs in 2 and 1/3 innings and then breaks his leg and can't pitch for the rest of the year.

When the Cubs lose I'm not in a good mood, but remember no one cares about you're fantasy team.

Order of priorities

1. Cubs

1000000000000. fantasy team

When the Cubs are playing a player on your fantasy team you have to stop caring about that player and hope the Cubs annihilate him. The Cubs are the only thing that matters in sports. If the Cubs could only win the world series if it meant that all my other teams (Bears, Bulls, Hawks) never won a game for the rest of their existence that would be a sacrifice I would be willing to make in a millisecond. Ok, I'm getting too worked up, FLIPPIN WIN CUBS.

How the hell are we only two games out of first?

I don't know. I'm surprised they aren't 14 back by now. At least they still have something to aspire to.

that might not be good enough. anything more than 0 runs is likely to result in a loss with this offense.

After what I saw the first two games I would settle for just Soriano and Ramirez getting on track and getting their first hits of 2008.
