We don't need Nefi.....we already have Juan Castro.

blasphemy!!!

neifi should be cloned...then every fan of every team in the majors would be able to taste the sweet nectar that encompasses the passion of play projected forth from neifi's majestic body

That is absolutely amazing. I thought this thread was a joke at first. Corey AND Hairston. That's too perfect.

"Dusty, select a category."

"I'll take 'Neifi Perez' for the Trifecta, Alex."

Am I the only one surprised that C-Patt couldn't get a major league deal?

maybe its only a minor league deal on paper, and dusty gave him some promises. i dont remember jhjr getting alot of pt with dusty.

Reds are gonna be 2nd in the NL Central this year with 83-86 wins.

I still don't get this Reds bandwagon stuff. That pitching is still garbage.

I don't doubt Dusty had some input in both signings, but isn't signing players, especially to minor league contracts up tp the GM? Playing the players (or not) is one thing, but signing them isn't his responsibility.

Their pitching isn't that bad. Harang is as good as anybody in the NL, outside of Peavy, Webb, and now Santana. Bailey and Volquez have a lot of talent. Fogg is bad. And I think a lot rides on Bronson Arroyo. But compare them w/ the Cubs. I'd take Harang over Zambrano in the #1 spot. The Reds have nobody that can matchup to Hill and Lilly. But I may take their 2-5 all over Dempster and Lieber, and that's for this year, not talking potential. Besides, Colorado and Philly showed last year, that you don't need even a good pitching staff to make a playoff run. In fact, I would expect the Reds to be very similar to the Phils rotation of Hamels, Eaton, Lieber, Moyer, and Kendrick; and they will probably have to piece together a bullpen all year too.

You'd think that. However, couple this past offseason with Jim Hendry's wonderful personnel decisions with Dusty, I'm beginning to think Dusty is a master at blackmail, hypnosis, or voodoo.
