The only missing piece is Neifi.

Haha, I wonder if some of the Cincy brass are going, "umm.....is he really going to just bring back his failed Cub team?"

I don't why he moaned about the horses and then he goes and gets the same ones 2 years later. God, it's so much better being on this side of the fence regarding Dusty. I can not wait to see how he handles Dunn when he watches the 3 strike go by time and time again.

And someone in ST, Jay Bruce is doing  followed by a ](*,) , then a to the GM.

After the Roberts' trade:

Cubs flip Payton to the Reds for Bruce. We might have to include a relief pitcher to make Krivisky happy. Dusty gets a veteran to platoon with Corey Patterson and gets rid of a pesty youngster wanting a job.

btw, anyone know what Tom Goodwin is up to these days?

And then the cream of the crop.....LENNY!

oh God, lenny harris. that guy has to be up to a D-cup by now.

He's on the Nats coaching staff. If he were available I don't doubt that Dusty would offer him a coaching job, or maybe even let him play.

Am I the only one surprised that C-Patt couldn't get a major league deal?

They must have something worked out because I'm with you on this one. I'm sure C-Patt could have signed a low pay, one year deal with some team.

Yeah, the hitting coach - of all things.

They're two years older now. Thus, they are now better at baseball.

I didn't think like Dusty, you're probably right!

This thread just makes me smile each time it's brought back up.

Or ball 4, for that matter. Cause it's called hitting, not walking.

Plus Dunn's a slow dude. He's the typical base clogger.

Plus he has a .248 career BA, and we all know BA is more important than OBP. Nevermind that half his hits go for extra bases.

That's because he has too many movable parts.

I just crapped a cow. My ESPN MVP alert just came on my phone and one of the alerts was a couple days old and it said "Cubs sign Patterson and Hairston". Clearly a mistake. I knew about this before hand but seeing it as an ESPN alert scared the crap out of me

When the Reds trade for Freddy Bynum, I will laugh my ass off.

McPhails trying to trade Roberts to open up a spot for Freddie.

Minor league deals for both.

Yep, Dusty Baker is our manager.

Remember that cory is a "5 tool player" according to all of us a couple of years ago. Too bad those tools were pretty dull

Actually, the tools weren't all that dull, except for maybe the contact part of the equation. The rest of those tools were pretty damn good. Just goes to show how dumb the five tool thing is.

I'm surprised Corey couldn't do better. Say what you want about his offense but the guy can steal a base, has power, and plays a very good CF.

either Corey or the Cubs couldn't decide what kind of hitter he was. he was probably Kenny Lofton but they kept trying to make him Ken Griffey Jr.

Fixed....but, ya, Dusty did pretty much ruin his career by batting him 1st.

I don't remember him being hurt that often? (He did have knee surgery if I recall though)
