That would be a weird sight. Barry in a Rays uni.

They can't delay the trial for an entire baseball season, can they? At some point he's got to go back to SF and face his accusers. No chance in hell that judge dismisses the case, they've got him dead to rights.

bringing in 40 year old veterans has worked so well for the Rays in the past. Remember the triumphant playoff runs headed by Boggs and Canseco?

Why not? They've already signed Cliff Floyd and Mike DiFelice.

Ya, they could dig up Hank Greenberg too and have Crawford and Baldelli carry him around like Weekend at Bernies.

They should sign him. You'd see the Rays on ESPN Sunday Night Baseball for the first time in forever, and it would be comical.

it'd quite possibly put the devil rays in 3rd place!

They might be able to do that even without him. The O's are rebuilding and the Jays are an enigma.

When did Tampa get an MLB baseball team? I thought they were some traveling sideshow like the circus or Globetrotters and owned by some Elk club.

more like the Washington Generals

Assuming he signed with the Rays, hits at least one more HR (to break/extend his own record) and then gets his 3,000th hit..........................

All Jokes aside, IF Bonds were to go there for @8 million he is worth every penny. He is 65 hits away from 3000, and is adding to his own HR record. People would go to see him. I think more people would go to boo him, but they still would be paying to get in. As Lawrence Fishbourne said, "The money don't know where it came from!"

It is not like he has a lot of choices.

I just think it would be amusing. Probably for about 10 minutes, but 10 minutes of amusement is better than no minutes of amusement.

Nah... That wouldn't work. Baldelli would probably pull a hamstring trying to lug the body around.
