Rex Grossman took his team to the Super Bowl at the age of 26.

The Bears defense took that team to the Super Bowl in spite of Rex Grossman.

Eh, don't agree. I understand he wasn't the greatest, but part of the Bears being the #1 seed that year was the bombastic games he had early, and that toss to Davis in OT to set up the winning FG vs. Seattle was pure magic.

Any time you have a player who is providing the dagger in a playoff game, he's a contributor.

Rex had his moments, no matter how much people bash him.

Eli's QB rating for Sunday vs. GB was 72. Grossman was 73.2 vs. NO last year and 76.9 vs. Seattle.

Eli's 2007 is pretty much exactly the same as Grossman's 2006. Same QB rating. Same 23 TD/20 INT season. Eli's completion % was better. Grossman's YPC was better.

I'd still much rather have Eli than Grossman. Manning has had some dreadful games, but nothing approaching the semi-consistent disaster games that Grossman specializes in.

In his 60 NFL starts, Manning has had 3 or more INT's in a game 5 times.

In his 34 NFL starts, Grossman has done it 6 times.

Wow. What an incredibily biased and misleading stat. That's the only thing you could find that differentiates Eli from Grossman, huh? That's a lot better determining factor than the career completion %, TD/INT ratio, and QB ratings that are very similar.

Manning has had 2 INTs in a game 20 times in 60 starts.

Grossman has had 2 INTs in a game 10 times in 34 starts.

Are people really comparing Eli Manning to Rex Grossman? I hate Eli Manning, but I'm not about to say he's Grossman bad. Come on now.

Clearly that isn't the only thing, however it does show that Grossman is nearly twice as likely to completely suck ass during a particular ballgame.

Grossman has had 2 INTs in a game 10 times in 34 starts.

That's about the same percentage. Besides, 2 INT likely isn't always going to doom your team in a particular game; 3 or 4 picks, and you are pretty much guaranteed a loss.

I disagree. I'd like to see the win-loss totals of Manning and Grossman when either of them throw 2 INT's in a game. The winning percentage wouldn't be too good.

Tom Brady was spotted wearing a walking cast on his right foot. If he can't go, Matt Cassell will start for the first time since highschool in the Superbowl trying to preserve the greatest season in the history of professional sports.

But yeah, Brady will play.

He'll play.

and win super bowl mvp

Possibly. After all, there is precedence for a player from the losing team to win MVP. :D

Grossman:

2 INTs: 2-2

3 INT's: 1-4

4 INT's: 1-0 (the "crown their ass" game)

Manning:

2 INT's: 7-8

3 INT's: 1-2

4 INT's: 0-2

Everyone at school and at the local soda shop(convenient store), is blindly following the Pats. I hate when people who know nothing about either team think they know who will win. Eli played well the first 2 games of the playoffs and against the pats as well. I don't see how this is a foregone conclusion.

My guess:

Giants-24

Pats-21

Tynes better not screw us.

Last time I checked, the Giants have played three games in the playoffs this year.

Eli's QB rating against Dallas in the Divisional round: 132.4

Eli's QB rating against Tampa Bay in the Wild Card round: 117.1

I refer to myself as us because I'm a fan. The "us" refers to the Giants fanbase.

So I know that the Giants are officially the "away" team, but do teams get to pick their jersey's in the Super Bowl? I'd think they should be able to. Seems like the Giants should be wearing their blue tops.

Why does it seem that way?

The Pats, as the home team, get to pick.

It just seems like that if a team makes it all the way to the Super Bowl, they should at least be able to pick what uniforms they'd like to wear.

The problem is that there are 50+ million casual fans watching this game. If you get a situation where both teams choose the exact same color, there's going to be a lot of confused people out there.

just make special "collector's edition" SuperBowl jerseys, where the Pats where, say, mustard yellow and the Giants where kelly green

He was basically 2006 Grossman for the regular season. Remarkably similar, actually.

He has played very well in the playoffs however. Much like the Bears of '06, they are a completely different team when getting competant quarterback play. If it holds up, they have a punchers chance against the Patriots. I would still think that Pats would need to turn it over a couple of times though.
