some people in the organization want to see GM Jim Hendry pursue a trade for the Angels' Chone Figgins, a switch-hitter. But the Cubs probably don't have what it takes to land Figgins. The Angels value Figgins so highly, one person with ties to the Los Angeles organization said the team might ask the Cubs for third baseman Aramis Ramirez in return.

Do not send this to Hendry. He will fall in love with the idea as will a majority of the idiotic local media.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

That's the funniest thing I've read in awhile. That's as good as Hendry liking Murton, but Murton's not left handed!!!

Priceless!

I don't think Hendry is actually considering any offer of Ramirez for Figgins because it was never actually offered. That was a speculative point by a source guessing the Angels would want for him.

Give us Kendrick, Wood, and Figgins in exchange for Ramirez. Then we'll talk.

Those three are worth quite a bit more than Ramirez IMO.

I think we all understand this. We aren't making fun of Hendry, for once, but instead the Angels GM.

Figgins for Ramirez? Man we would be robbing them - at least throw in Pie and Colvin to make it even. If I read that idea on an Angel's message board I would find it a joke - let a lone when a "expert" is saying it....

Agree to disagree, imo. Figgins is an average offensive player. I don't think Kendrick/Wood by themselves would be nearly enough to pry Ramirez from the Cubs.

I'd do a Brandon Wood, Chone Figgins, and Kendry Morales for Aramis Ramirez and Matt Murton (or another guy they like Marshall, Pie etc) in a heartbeat.

Chone Figgins would be a nice guy to have around in CF. Brandon Wood can slide in at SS, defense be damned. Kendry Morales is on the verge of superstardom. We save cash in the process and can still grab Kosuke Fukudome.

The Cubs would be a better team with this:

1. Chone Figgins, CF

2. Kosuke Fukudome, RF

3. Derrek Lee, 1B

4. Alfonso Soriano, LF

5. Kendry Morales, 3B

6. Mark DeRosa, 2B

7. Brandon Wood, SS

8. Geovany Soto, C

when in the hell was a .280 eqa guy average? i mean thats above average production at every position on the diamond except first base, where it's average. this guy can play 2B and CF. He's an above average guy

i sited OPS+, not EqA (which I don't have ready access to, admittedly). Last season was off the charts as far as playing above his career numbers.

HAHA.

Ramirez turned down more money from the Angels just last off-season, took a hometown discount with the Cubs, and received a full no-trade clause. Of course he would agree to a trade to Anaheim!

lol Angels, good job missing out on Cabrera

It's a conspiracy. Aramis Ramirez last year. Miguel Cabrera this year. Maybe they should go out and sign another outfielder to cheer themselves up.

Willits, Anderson, Rivera, Matthews Jr., Vlady, Torii Hunter just isn't enough.

I hear Darin Erstad is available. :D

BP has his EpA at .289 for 2007.

But his adjusted for all time EqA is .305. You need to use the all time version if you're going to make comparisons across leagues.
