Some of the problems with this particular trade have been denials and stalling by the Os (they even tried to lie when Jones was heading to Baltimore). I don't know the overall percentage of accuracy with these guys but Peace has said all along that one of his sources is within Bedard's agent's office.

 

I know for myself that the O's have been holding up these deals. The person I know, who told me about the Roberts trade, looked bad when it didn't go down that day (and so did I) but that doesn't mean that the info was wrong it just got changed. Besides, he said originally that it was not the names that were reported.

I think people just take what they're saying too seriously. They do have "contacts", it's just that they're unreliable. That Peace dude's "guy" works in the same agency as Bedard's agent, so what he hears is most likely stuff that's just filtered down. The problem is that people hear it and take it as fact.

Bedard's physical is set to begin later this afternoon, but probably won't be concluded until Friday. Assuming Bedard passes his physical, a news conference to announce a trade isn't likely until at least Friday.
