Good to see that his health is fine enough to throw again and exert energy without chest pains.

Rusch said he has also received good feedback from the Dodgers, Brewers and Cardinals, among others, and would be receptive to the Cubs, who paid him $3.25 million in 2007 in absentia as part of the two-year, $6 million contract he signed after the 2005 season.

I think the Cards should sign Rusch immediatly.

So he can go 17-10 with a 4.00 ERA? No thanks.

Not a chance in hell that would happen.

I counter that with the numerous scrap heap acquisitions they've had who have given them a season or two of randomly good to awesome production. Rusch is exactly along those lines.

Yea Kip Wells and Mike Maroth looked fantastic for them this year.

I just heard the Card's have bulk ordered Husky Baseball Pants© so maybe there's truth to the Rusch rumors.

Hey, it doesn't always work out, but their success ratio the last few years with those kind of players is absurdly high.

One thing is for sure, Rusch would absolutely own the Cubs if he pitched for the Cards. Magic Cardinal voodoo, crappy pitcher and he's a soft tossing lefty? Dominance.

He's a veteran lefty in a world that excuses all failures when you have those attributes.

He'll find work. I think it likely he'll suck, but he'll find work.

You guys do know that Dusty was hired in Cincy, right? How can he assemble a team without his savior, Glendon.

Expect Rusch and Neifi to get multi year deals.

BTW, good for Rusch, he is a very nice guy and it's not his fault Hendry overpaid him. He did have one hell of a 2004.

Glendon Rusch is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet.

So he's like Adam Archuleta but with a bit more flab.

I'm not saying I wouldn't have a beer with the guy. Just keep him off my 25 man, that's all. Good luck to him.

Sure you want to limit that to just the 25-man?

Can't they just drag out Ray King's old uniforms from out of the moth balls?
