Kenny Williams comes up with a steal of a trade.

Pardon?

A 33 year old SS?

The Angels rotation is ridiculous now

Lackey

Escobar

Garland

Weaver

Santana

The White Sox...ehhh not so much

Buehrle

Vazquez

Danks

Contraras?

Floyd?

Do the Angels really have that much of a need for an okay innings eater? Not that they gave up a ton for him, but Cabrera is a competent SS and their offense was what abandoned them late. Plus, Garland is going to need a huge contract after this coming season, assuming he makes it through the year intact.

Who is their incoming SS?

Aybar or Wood. Probably Aybar.

You really have to wonder what the Angels have planned next. Are they getting ready to make a play for Cabrera? Maybe Tejada?

This move doesn't make much sense unless they're planning on trading some pitching to acquire more offense from the left-side of the diamond.

Perhaps Williams, seeing his counterpart on the Northside gathering a team of 25 backup middle infielders, decides he needs a few extras too?

Sounds to me like Anaheim is about to deal for Cabrera.

Kendrick, Mathis and Adenhart or

Kendrick, Morales and Adenhart?

Either of those deals would still have the Angels with Figgins, Aybar and Wood to move around between the two infield spots.

OF- Guererro

OF- GMJ

OF- Rivera

DH- Anderson

3b- Cabrera (if they get him in trade)

SS- Aybar

2b- Figgins

1b- Kotchman

C- Napoli

Not bad.

don't you have your own crappy team to worry about?

Jake doesn't have anything to worry about. His GM knows what statistics are and presumably how to use them.

Definitely feels like they're getting ready to trade an arm for a bat.

But I wonder if they might be thinking about Tejada since he would cost less than Miguel Cabrera in terms of players/prospects.

I know Garland isn't great, but this is still a really stupid trade. Cabrera isn't all that good, and I don't see how the White Sox are any better after this deal.

Why resign Uribe if you're going to trade for Cabrera?

Maybe Kenny knows the Cubs are in the market for a SS and covets someone in particular that we have got. Might he try to turn around and flip O.Cab to us for something like Marshall+Murton? I'm not suggesting the trade by any means, just wondering what the Sox might be up to. Also I would think that this makes Santana being involved in any M.Cabrera to the Angels trade much more likely.

Any deal that Hendry makes from now on has to include 1-2 crappy middle IF going to the other team to clear up our surplus.

Maybe sub Cedeno for Murton then? I would prefer Theriot or Infante, but I think Cedeno opens the Spring in someone else's camp. I doubt the Sox would do that now that I think about it a little more. Hmmm, I wonder what it would take to get O.Cabrera?

I would disagree that the Cubs have a huge surplus right now if nobody else is signed as is rumored. Let's say DeRosa and Theriot are the starters. Infante is the right-handed platoon partner in CF and the backup to 2B and SS. Cedeno and Fontenot battle it out for the other bench spot, with Cedeno probably winning it.

It wouldn't be bad if 1 of the middle IF's left via trade, but I disagree that there is a massive surplus of them. It's just that there's only 1 pretty good one among the group, and a bunch that are struggling to make it to average.
