Would the sandwich pick come after the first round or after the 2nd round?

After the first.

The Brewers are going to have one of the worst defenses in history. I can't wait until LaPorta is in left.

Where would Braun play??

ETA: Do it, Brewers.

Where would Braun play??

I heard he's taking 1,000 grounders a day this offseason, so presumably they are going to try and keep him at third. I guess they are just going to try and bludgeon the rest of the NL Central to death. The way their defense is shaping up, I have my doubts that it'll work, but I haven't really thought about it.

Interesting. I had also heard they were considering moving him to LF.

Oh well, rather his defense at third.

If they move Braun to LF, what the heck do they do with LaPorta? He could be a valuable trade chip and all, but I have a feeling the Brewers didn't draft him with the intent of trading him.

According to the score Kendall has agreed to a 2 year deal with the Brewers. This gets even better and better for us.

An extra draft pick for the Cubs and allowing Kendall to further decline with our major division rival? Sounds good to me.

Well, it does make one good thing now if Matsui comes to town. Every time he gets on 1st against the Brewers, it's an automatic triple. :D

He will beat the Cubs at least once on a hit and run where the pitch will be 6 feet outsiide and in the dirt. Edited by Bruno7481

It's worth noting that by acquiring Kendall, the Brewers are actually going to improve their ability to throw out runners in comparison to Estrada.

Well, maybe. Kendall has a better CS percentage, but you have to remember 2 things about that:

1) It includes pickoffs by the pitcher. Do you really think Kendall threw out 20 baserunners by himself last year?

2) Kendall had a base stolen on him every 10.3 innings while Estrada only allowed a base stolen on him every 13.2 innings, and that doesn't even begin to address the fact that the Cubs and Athletics allowed less people on 1st and 2nd base than the Brewers did per inning.

He puts up a pretty decent OBP. That's all I care about - Estrada was just plain awful.

Awful -> slightly less awful. He'll likely hit # 2 (knowing Yost), and with an OBP north of .340, that'll mean a lot of runs from Braun-Fielder-Hart, who are, if my numbers are right, all phenomenal hitters. Seriously, last season Craig Counsell and JJ Hardy post-June spent a lot of time at # 2.

I doubt it.

Oh, he might.

But he's still terrible.

I would have preferred having Kendall backing up Soto rather than Hank White but oh well. Thanks for the sandwich pick Brew Crew!

Why? Henry can throw out more guys and maybe not hit for contact as much but certainly hit for more power.
