So if Oklahoma loses tonight, there will be several things open up.

One, the Big 12 South will still be up for grabs depending on the results this week. If I read the tiebreakers correctly, it will all be dependent on an Oklahoma win next week. if Oklahoma wins, they win the South. If Oklahoma loses, Texas goes no matter if they win against A&M or not (they'd win by themselves if they beat A&M and they would have the tiebreaker in the 3 team tie with Oklahoma and Oklahoma State).

Plus, that would leave only 6 viable teams for the national title, with several of those teams having serious tests next week.

I honestly don't think you'll see any more than 3 of those 6 remaining by the time the dust settles, maybe 4. Ohio State is already 1 of those that will be remaining, although they are at the back of that 1 loss pack and so will need losses from the others to sneak into the title game.

I will concede that the future does look a bit brighter. A lot of young guys have stepped up this year and played extremely well. DJK, the O-line, Clayborn and Ballard on the ends will pick up where Iwebema and Mattison are leaving off. Greenwood's looked sharp, and I think Bernstine will turn into a pretty good player. There are some really nice looking young LBs as well. Question marks still remain at RB and WR though.

Look's like IMB!'s fears were justified. 34-10 Tech over Oklahoma now.

What did we learn this week? The Big Ten isn't very good.

alabama lost to UL-Monroe and tennessee barely beat vandy at home... looks like the sec sucks

sweet fake FG by that tricky JoePa... PSU up 24-7 over moo

FLorida rules blah blah blah blah, Lil ten sucks blah blah blah Tim Tebow blah blah blah, bunch of numbers I made up, blah blah blah.

Mature response.

Coming from you? HA

Good. Now we need OU to win out and win the Big XII.

Why is Keener allowed to insult me personally in every thread and never get reprimanded? I'd be banned by now if I said anything remotely close to what he says.

Vanderbilt at (19) Tennessee (2 pm)

Tennessee is about a 9 point favorite in that game. Mismatch? Not so sure.

(3) Oklahoma at Texas Tech (9 pm, ABC)

Oklahoma is about an 8 point favorite in that game. Mismatch? Not so sure.

(6) Missouri at Kansas State (12:30 pm)

Missouri is about a 4 point favorite in that game. Mismatch? Not so sure.

Probably. But based on what both teams have done thus far it's a good game. Based on how they're playing? Maybe not. That said who knows if getting their butts kicked won't light a fire under KSU. It did for Nebraska. I think Missouri will win it, but by two TDs not a mistmatch kind of score.

Good call, Mephistopheles. 3 for 3.

Mizzou was up by 24 before they gave up a garbage time score. It lived up to mismatch status.

I'd like to just reiterate that LSU is very, very beatable.

This is true, but who has the speed to match up with them? The Big XII's overrated trio = not so much. Ohio State? Not after last season's NC. WVU? They could put points on the board against LSU, not so sure they can stop them. Honestly, there are pretty much 2 universities that have enough speed to match up against LSU: USC and Florida. Those schools have the best chance to knock off LSU. Unfortunately, neither of the teams have a realistic scenario of facing them. Of the teams with a legitimate chance of facing LSU, WVU probably matches up the best, though I think LSU would score pretty easily on them. LSU isn't invincible, but I don't think the 1 loss teams match up that well against them. Their only loss in the best conference was a flukish triple overtime loss on the road to Kentucky.

Meh I said it would be a 14 point game. It was what? 17? CLOSE ENOUGH.

To be fair, none of those predictions were that difficult.

I didn't think Oklahoma would rout TT in Lubbock, but no one predicted what is happening now.

K-State was going to get up for the Mizzou game, and the Tigers have played a relatively easy schedule.

Tennessee has been iffy all season (IMO), and Vandy isn't a total cupcake.

Saying all three would be close to relatively close was kind of a lay up.

Watch what you say: There are some people here who feel Vandy is a cupcake and it was an embarrassment for the SEC that UT almost lost to them. I didn't say they were hard to pick, heh.

17 point spreads to me are mismatch scores. One team's pretty clearly better most of the time in that scenario.
