Dateline: The Hotline II --Hmmm. Real estate mogul Donald Trump is acting like he wants a firmer foothold in Chicago and claiming he's eying a possible Chicago Cubs bid.

 

• • To wit: The Trumpster talked about his dugout dreams during opening remarks at a Donald E. Stephens Convention Center seminar Sunday evening in Rosemont.

 

• • The whack: The ego man shot a barb at billionaire Mark Cuban, who is part of a group hoping to buy the Cubbies, by chiding him for not winning anything in his life.

 

• • The smack: Trump told the audience he was going to look into buying the Cubs Monday morning.

 

• • The thwack: Will Cuban, who starred on "Dancing With the Stars," kick up his heels at Trump's comment? More dugout dirt to come?

The building looks awesome. I remember being there back when the Red Sox came into town and and someone saying where it was going to be etc. And then going back this last summer and seeing all the work that has been done.

 

I'd live there in a heartbeat if my wife would go for it lol. Or any condo downtown for that matter.

 

I could see Trump going out and getting his name in the media about it just to strike up more interest in his Tower downtown. He just throws the name around to attact more people in his other projects.

 

And anyways, didn't all of the groups have to submit paper work by now that were interested?

Cheapest place that's on the market in the tower is almost $800k. For a 710 square foot studio.

 

Oh, and I lied a bit earlier when i said it was 60% done. It's just a tad shorter than the IBM building right now, and the IBM building is something like 47 stories. The Trump Tower is supposed to be 92. So it's somewhere around 50% of max height.

I don't see how Selig could justify saying Cuban is not a good fit for MLB ownership, and then turn around and approve none other than Donald Trump.

That's way overpriced depending on what is provided, but 800K for a studio is crazy. I can't see anything beyond a gaggle of strippers at one's disposal that could 800K for one room and a bath worth it.

The location between the Trump tower and that one is about 4 blocks and probably a worse view in the Trump building especially facing NE on the lower levels which gives you views of Michigan Ave. instead of the lake.
