I'm sorry Andy but you shouldn't have beaten Illinois. You can't just take the problems Ball St. had, say they should've been done the other way and automatically say it should've been a win. Illinois had a lot more shouldas than BSU. I don't think you beat IU either, though I haven't seen them play in a few weeks, it's possible they've regressed.

Jake Hogue missed two chip-shot field goals, Brady Hoke sat on the ball at midfield with 30 seconds and all 3 timeouts left in the first half, Booker flat-out whiffed on a tackle that should've been made that turned into a 25 yard run for Juice, etc. etc. If these were things that UI might have caused I'd feel differently, but if the Cardinals simply didn't play (and coach) stupid there's a good chance things would've turned out differently.

I'm certainly not saying UI played their best game, but you sure as hell didn't get Ball State's sharpest one either. BTW, I agree with whoever said to bench Juice. He's a good runner but my god the man can't throw to save his life.

If McGee plays (as he should), that game isn't even close. Sorry, but Juice kept Ball St. in that game yesterday with that pick 6 and his terrible passing game.

RB Kahlil Bell - UCLA's best offensive player - is out for the season with an ACL tear.

God, I hope ND beats Navy. They really should be able to - they have the better athletes and Navy's defense is so colossally bad that the Irish might manage 20 points on them.

As for Ball State, frankly at this point there's no excuse not to beat IU. The Cardinals have already done well - and should have won - against two teams as good or better than the Hoosiers (Nebraska and Illinois) and it's about damn time we win one of these games against big conference teams. I want a win, especially since I'll be in Bloomington.

If Indiana loses to Ball State then I'll cry.

Not that I don't respect BSU or anything, just that going from 5-1 to 5-5 would about break my spirit for IU football. We MUST beat Ball State and Northwestern the next two weeks.

All of Western Illinois' losses have come against decent teams. Two of them were blowouts; 21-0 Illinois and 42-3 Northern Iowa. I doubt they'll be able to slow down SIU's high powered offense, so we should be able to roll all over them.

We probably won't win the conference, but if we win out, we should be able to get a top 4 seed in the I-AA playoffs. That would guarantee us home field advantage for the first two rounds.

The Big 10 Network's alternate feeds on DirecTV are a godsend. Thanks to them I was able to watch both the Ball State and Indiana games last Saturday (mainly watching Ball State and occasionally checking in on Indiana, since the games were on at the same time). And this Saturday I'll be able to to watch Ball State-Indiana, knowing that regardless of the outcome one of my two favorite teams will become bowl-eligible. It's nice to be able to see Big 10 football regularly despite being in ACC country.

4) That UCLA is officially the worst-coached team in America. OK, Karl Dorrell -- I give up. You win. I’ve given you every opportunity to avoid this designation. I threw Al Groh to the wolves instead of you last summer even though Groh’s perennially middle-of-the-pack Cavs had accomplished no less than your perennially middle-of-the-pack Bruins these past few years. I included your team in my preseason rankings because I figured even you couldn’t screw up a team with 20 returning starters and an ultra-loaded defense. But I’ve gotta hand it to you, Karl -- you’ve outdone yourself this time.

Washington State 27, UCLA 7. Just stare at that score for a moment and try to make sense of it. Granted, it’d seem a lot more bizarre if not for two other scores -- Utah 44, UCLA 6 and Notre Dame 20, UCLA 6 -- that preceded it. Mind you, we’re talking about a team that’s talented enough to have beaten Cal, won 40-14 at Oregon State and be currently tied for second in the Pac-10. But talent alone does not a team make.

I can offer no logical explanation for why UCLA continually fails to show up for certain games (a trend that’s been true throughout Dorrell’s tenure). I find it hard to believe the Bruins simply aren’t "motivated." A possible Pac-10 title and BCS berth provide no shortage of motivation. The reality is, the Bruins are the definition of a poorly coached team, whether they’re going into games with ill-devised game plans or repeatedly making the kind of mistakes good coaches weed out. Of all the coaches on the hot seat right now -- Bill Callahan, Dennis Franchione, Houston Nutt, et. al. -- none has consistently done less with more than Dorrell. (And that’s saying something considering the competition.) Here’s guessing that notion will only be reinforced when UCLA, loser to 3-5 Washington State, turns around and beats 8-0 ASU or 7-1 Oregon in a couple of weeks, just to give its fans another temporary glimpse of what could have been en route to the Sun Bowl.

- CNNSI. I hope the national media keeps it up. I have no faith in Dan Guerrero firing Dorrell.

And Dorrell lost one of his best recruits for next season in WR Kemonte Bateman to ASU.

Well the Ohio State/Wisconsin game is on the B10 network this weekend which totally sucks for us who dont get the B10 network. I find it amusing that people outside of B10 country get the network but many of us who are in the heart of it dont. I have friends in Kentucky that get the network and i dont. WTH, like they could give a crap if they get it or dont.

I hate the Big Ten Network for existing. The ESPN Game Plan and Full Court worked quite well. Even if Comcast ever agrees to terms with BTN, I'd still miss out on many Wisconsin games. It sounds like cable companies only have one BTN channel, which means conflicting local games (e.g., Illinois, Northwestern, etc.) would be shown. I heard Direct TV has spill over channels, so they'd show all the games. Horrible planning on the BTN part. I only wish Direct TV was an option for me.

Um, I didn't say what you quoted me as saying.

Coker the Toker.

Vols RB L. Coker dismissed after 4th failed drug test. Im not aware of a NCAA football player having this serious of a problem that he got busted 4 times.

Tennessee earlier this year revamped its drug-testing policy, and in doing so, added a fourth strike for a positive marijuana test before an athlete was dismissed. The old policy stipulated that an athlete was booted on the third positive test. Marijuana is the only drug an athlete would be able to reach a fourth strike for under UT's new policy. Cocaine, heroin or anabolic steroids would be dealt with more harshly.

this town is dead. you would never know there was a game tomorrow

yeah after last weekend it seems like a letdown... i expect there won't be many people tailgating tomorrow morning either.

I am pumped for tomorrow's game. A win is pretty critical as a loss will mean that they'll have to win out to get to a bowl. Hopefully Iowa's Evanston nightmares continue. The weather will be crisp and sunny.

OU vs aTm

For some reason, they always scare me. McGee can't pass (which is good, because our pass defense is terrible), but he can run. So can Goodson and Lane (well, he can rumble), which scares me.

I really don't like aTm at all.

If UCLA wants to go to a bowl game, they gotta win tomorrow.

Booty returns to the USC starting lineup.

How much more harshly, 3 times and they're suspended for almost one half of a game?
