so where the hell does georgia get seeded? their rpi will be around 100, which is bad, but if they hold on, they will have just won four games in four days in a major conference. my guess is that they get a 13 seed.

the big 10 is pretty awful this year. wisconsin is our best team? wisconsin is good but as usual has no chance of being great. hopefully the conference can bounce back next year.

As usual? Wisconsin might not be built for a national title, but they've proved to be talented enough to get to the final four, elite eight or sweet sixteen. Arguably, Wisconsin has been one of the best, if not the best, Big Ten team over the last 5 or so years.

yeah that isn't saying much though.

Haha, the best? I assume you've forgotten the Illinois runner-up team?

i think he was saying that wisconsin may be the best big 10 basketball PROGRAM over the past 5 years. which is probably an accurate statement.

Key words "one of the best" and "over the last 5 years". Illinois was great that season, but I'm talking over time, not one season.

ahh, i thought you meant this team was the single best Big-10 team over the last five. Big difference.

good lord....Georgia is gonna win it all. In 3 days they will have blown past 2 bubble teams (UM and UK) and 2 NCAA teams (MSU and ARK). Crazy because all year they've been considered to be one of the worst, if not THE worst, SEC team.

They'll likely be slotted in instead of the last at-large team. The selections have been made at this point, with the final two spots probably saying "Arizona State/Illinois" and "Virginia Tech/Georgia" (or whomever the final two at-larges are). The committee cannot make whole-sale changes this late. Therefore, I would assume a 12 or a 13. If it's 13, then the committee did actually make some secondary arrangements (at-large teams generally go no lower than 12).

Georgia officially bounces Villanova/Ohio State/Illinois State/whoever from the NCAA tournament.

Of note (off the top of my head): besides being the first major conference team to make the tournament with a losing record, Georgia also has the worst record ever for an at-large team, going 16-14 and being selected a few years back. I didn't verify either of these tidbits (though they definitely got in at 16-14), so I could be wrong -- educated guess though.

Georgia is 17-16, unless you meant losing record pre-conference tournament.

I was getting ready to post and reclarify what I meant, as Georgia no longer has a losing record, though they are 16-16 (one of UGA's wins is against Augusta, a non-DI program).

8 seed for IU, i expected better. arkansas then UNC

Where did you see that?

Good lord I cannot wait until Legion and Smith are playing and Meachum and Frazier are waching.

shooting will return to champaign, again. meacham will be valuable off the bench next season, frazier, the same, but they're both role players and no more.

i'd entertain the idea of starting brock in place of smith next year, too.

but the real question is: who plays in the middle? my vote goes for keller and simpson. simpson is a man, and vastly underrated, he does it all against serious competition.

no to tisdale, cole, and semrau until they prove that they belong on a high major team. davis has made progress, too.

Good spot for ND. Mason doesn't scare me and Wazzu is less a threat in my mind than a lot of other possible opponents in that spot. I'm satisfied.

On the selection show-they just revealed the entire East region.

So is the full bracket not online yet?

It's pretty ridiculous that Tennessee is not a 1 seed.

Even though we didn't make our tournament championship, we won the SEC regular season championship outright (more meaningful) and we had a much better resume than Kansas.

Otherwise, I'm happy enough with the Vols' spot. I don't know much about American though...
