ASU and WSU playing a hell of a game down in Tempe, it's coming down to the final minute. Harden has been superb.

We're looking pretty good. Hope we don't have a letdown Wednesday vs KU. Would be a nice time for our first win over them in Bramlage. I'm glad I got to come back to Kansas for this one.

 

 

I'm expecting a great game. This might be the first game we really miss Julian Wright. While he certainly has a higher ceiling than Darnell Jackson, his role was too undefined and his play was too erratic. I think DJs consistency is a huge part of our success this year. But Julian would be great to throw at Beasley. He wouldn't shut him down; he might not even slow him down much, but having Julian would save us from using Rush on Beasley.

 

Now I expect Rush to be a key part of his defense . Arthur, too, but i'm scared of what he'll do to Kaun and DJ. I think we have to defend him one-on-one though. Let him get his; just don't let the other guys go off.

 

Quick Beasley question: what percentage if the game does he play in the post?

ASU had a chance to win it but Harden didn't hit his shot inside the key. WSU holds on 56-55.

Walker will be the make or break person in the game for us. I hope he has a big night. Beasley will get his, but we need Walker to contribute in a big way to have a chance.

I agree. You'll probably need one more guy in addition to Walker. What made Texas so hard last year was Augustin AND Abrahms in addition to Durant. You need other guys to step up. It'll be a fun game, I think. I was impressed with Bramlage against aTm. The place was rocking.

 

I'm thinking if KU can lock down KSU guards, we can lessen the Beasley impact. We'll see, though. It'll be nice to play a good team again. The ISU/NU gauntlet has been a snooze.

LOL @ the Big Ten. A middle of the road Big East team beats the "best" big ten team...on the road...with two of their best players suspended.

 

Big Ten better hope for some good draws in the NCAA because they will be lucky to get 1 team to the 2nd weekend at this pace.

Last I checked, Indiana had less losses before the game and was ranked higher.

 

Oh ya, and Iowa beat Michigan State.

 

And to whoever said Uconn was only missing "role" players and then goes on to say "well, the guy was their second leading scorer, but he's not important"

 

Come on now. Just admit that the Big 10 sucks as a whole.

Indiana also had less losses and a better ranking than UCLA. I guess using your logic they would be worse than IU? Laughable. Rankings don't mean a whole lot.

No, they really don't. They are a media creation and they serve to give fans something to argue about.

 

I only got to watch the 2nd half today, but from what I saw, IU played lackluster defense and Sampson was just plain out-coached. Against a team like UConn, playing four guards can be an advantage if you force their big man into mismatches on the perimeter. This should allow you to drive past the slower big guy and to the basket. From there, you dish, pull-up or try and get a foul on the drive. Who cares if you get blocked? Most of the time on blocks you get the ball back. I would have been aggressive in using my speed and ball-handling ability. More than likely, execution of this would force UConn into a zone which you can pick apart from the 3 point line. Also, the Big East officials are just as bad as Big Ten officials (the non-goal tending call for example was preciously awful).

 

Back the Big Ten, right now, Purdue is playing good ball. They are really improving. I think Wisconsin is solid, but IU does match up well against them.

Hell of a day. I did not like Digger Phelps before today, but he's a pretty funny guy when he's off the camera. Plus he actually gave us props today which was somewhat surprising.

I was spared the torture of watching the IU game today. The game was televised on CBS, but my local CBS station is part of the ACC network, so the game was pre-empted for North Carolina State vs. Florida State.

Anybody remember when Erin Andrews used to do ESPNews, like right when it started and she was not attractive at all?

 

And then somebody from ESPN stepped up and decided to fix her up; got rid of her glasses and turned her from super dork into what she is now.
