I want a Cubs-Padres NLCS!

Go Pads!

Just curious, but why?

I wish other people would explain why they're rooting for the Padres or Rockies like I did. :P

I'm going to SoCal for my fall break, which happens to fall during the NLCS. If that match up happens, I'm going to try very hard to get tix.

It's a purely selfish reason.

Yeah, seriously. Who likes the Pads? I understand why Raisin would like to see the Cubs/Pads because he could make the trip to San Diego pretty easily to see them, but why do others want the Pads to win? I can't think of many other teams in the majors that I could care less for than the Padres. Right up there with the Washington Nationals. They are about as meh as it gets, IMO.

Go Rox!

And here's why...

They have a stupid dinasour as a mascot and his name is Dinger.

I kind of wish the Cubs had Tulowitzki.

I live in Denver and can't afford to make another trip (have tickets to game 3) to Chicago to see an NLCS game according to my wife.

Even though everyone here is kidding themselves since the Cubs are gonna play the Phillies in the NLCS so I can afford to see them in the second round, I'll cheer for the Rockies if only so that I can see them and the Phillies put up football scores for a handful of crazy playoff games.

That and I just don't like the Padres.

I think we match up better with the Rockies than the Pads

As do I. If we get past Arizona, I like our matchups against either Philly or Colorado. San Diego can't hit for much, but they've got the pitching to go very deep in the playoffs.

Who do they have besides Peavy?? Chris Young and his 5 ERA in the second half? I think Francis-Morales-Jimenez might be better than Peavy-Young-Germano.

You guy do realize the Rockies top 2 pitches are lefties (Francis and Morales)? Cubs don't match up as well with the Rockies as you guys think, this is a different Rockies team than the ones the Cubs had success against earlier in the season.

Rockies and Phils will out hit the crap out of the Cubs. The Cubs matchup best against the DBacks and Padres, teams that won't score a whole lot and don't have any deception soft-tossing pitchers.

Go Rockies

I think the Pads take this game, and it doesn't matter because the Phillies absolutely destroy them in the NLDS.

I'm gonna wait until we actually beat the DBacks to worry about who we match up with better in the NLCS.

"Josh Fogg loves the big stage"

... I know they said he's beaten several aces this year, but when has Fogg been on a true big stage?

He hasn't, it's a load of crap. He was with the Sox before they won the WS, and then he was pigeonholed @ Pitt for several years.

On a side note, for DirecTV HD subscribers, hope you got your b-band converters installed, because the TBSHD channel is now up & running! 8-)

So how many days' rest is this for Peavy?
