Wow. 11 in the AP and 12 in the Coaches' poll WILL LOSE THIS WEEKEND. Only one team from 20-25 in the Coaches' poll will survive. (assuming Notre Dame hangs in and wins). Edited by Warpticon

20-6 Notre Dame.

Time to commit suicide. Bye guys.

My God, what the hell is going on out there?

UCLA is playing a third string, walk-on redshirt freshman QB with backup RBs.

Still no reason to be losing.

Ack I just saw the update. Horrible turnover. Should know the only way ND gets a win will be when a team hands it to them.

That won't be the only way ND will get a win. They are getting better every game, and should have a good shot to win each of their last 4 games legitimately. The next two weeks are going to be rough though.

The way freshman keep stepping up for ND every week though, next year should be much better. They won't be great, but they should be above average next year the way players are developing.

Doesn't matter, UCLA would be up by double digits if Cowan or Olson were playing. You're up because you're facing a third string walk-on who has fumbled a 40-yard TD and thrown a pick that was returned to the 5.

I never said that ND would be winning otherwise (although I think it would be closer than that). I'm just saying that ND's only way to win is not if the opponent hands it to them. They're getting good enough to win on their own now, but tonight UCLA is handing the win to them.

Alas, I misread that.

Here's to your offense crapping the pooch a bit when you guys are pinned back because this offense won't score any other way.

How freaking predictable. And it wouldn't have mattered if Logan hadn't held.

And Bethel picked again.

Just take Forcier's redshirt off. Or go option with Ossar.

I'll say it: I think Mizzou could go undefeated until its bowl game. Prolly have to beat OU twice (next week and in Big XII champ). tough but not impossible. They look pretty good. Edited by snoodmonger

Sad thing is UCLA's defense has looked fantastic, ND has 3 pts that aren't from turnovers inside the 6.

Wow. He can't even hold on to a snap.

And when Bethel-Thompson actually makes a good throw, Bell drops a sure touchdown.

UCLA can't possibly start Bethel-Thompson in two weeks. Take off Forcer's redshirt or go with an option offense with Ossar Raashan.

And quit showing me lowlights of the Cubs during the UCLA game. I don't care that Steve Bartman went to Notre Dame.

Mizzou is looking very solid tonight. This is the 2nd straight time that I've chosen to watch the Cubs get eliminated rather than go to the Mizzou Nebraska game. I won't be this foolish next time.

And that blown Coffman TD call was flat out absurd. After reviewing that, how could they not get it right? It was as clear as day.

Would be nice for Illinois' SOS if Mizzou keeps on rolling.

And did anyone hear what Gary Danielson said considering Jacob Hester?

Is that 4 interceptions in the half? Holy crap. Walk-on redshirt freshmen aren't supposed to be this bad.

Bethel-Thompson should be ND's player of the game.

And I'm punching the next person that tells me "at least it's not basketball" or "it's only football."

Sucked to see Wisconsin lose today, but I couldn't say it was a total shock. Illinois has an awesome team offensively. Defensively they have some work still do, but they're opportunitistic. Offensively, if I were Illinois coaching I would rarely throw the ball. They're basically impossible to stop with Benn, Mendenhall and Juice running it.

From a Wisconsin perspective, those 2 Donovan INT's was the difference in the game. Take those two back, and Wisconsin had an excellent shot to win.

As a good takeaway for Wisconsin, their young player keep stepping up. Guys like Brown, Jefferson and Graham are stepping up as players like Hill, Swan and Hubbard get injured. Their offense should get more powerful in the coming years. And who would of thought Wisconsin would ever have a QB that throws for near 400 yards?

Defensively, their key guys are not stepping up. They really have some work there to do.

Illinois run D was very good today. Their pass D needs work. Agreed about rarely throwing though that offensive line just manhandled the front 4 of Wisconsin, who was said to have 2 1st day pro prospects. Its nice to be excited about Illini football, the team is fun to watch, and knowing where they have came from makes it even more enjoyable.

Any word on Benn or Juices injuries?

Ladies and gentlemen, Notre Dame finally has a win!!!!!

Thank you, random UCLA walk-on QB and Karl Dorrell.

Course, the buzzsaw is back next week with (going to be) top-5 team Boston College, but I can enjoy this for now. :)

Maurice Crum with 2 fumble recoveries, 2 picks and a TD. As Don Criqui said, "He's having a career tonight." :)

The issue with Wisconsin was that before the season started, everyone figured the offense would be good and the defense would be great. The defense was very good last year and they returned virtually everyone. Well, the offense is good, but the defense is terrible. This gave them an overinflated ranking and they kept it basically by default.

Oh well, the offense was good. Illinois got almost no pressure on Donovan and the Wisconsin TE's and WR's played very well.
