put me squarely in the anti-Jimmy Rollins for MVP camp. other than that, I don't care, but for a similar reason that I don't want Rollins, I don't want Dice K.

 

Rollins is not the MVP of his team, Dice K is not the best rookie on his team.

I'd rather have Tulowitzki on my team than Braun.

 

Braun's slightly better offensive output isn't enough to make up the difference in defense:

 

Braun: 26 Err, .893 FPCT

 

Tulowitzki: 11 Err, .987 FPCT

Oh ya, anyone think Soriano has a chance at GG in the OF? I know he has more errors than others, but 19 assists?? Francouer also has 19, however. But after that, it's not close as far as assists are concerned.

I think there is a chance that if the Rockies make it in Tulowitski gets the ROY.

I was thinking he should get it too, but you know it's going to Ryan Braun.

 

Also, I just checked Tulowitzki's splits and they are heavily influenced by Coors Field:

As for comeback player of the year, did Lee play well enough to justify a case? I don't really think so but it's a thought.

Why? Because he can slug better?

 

Clearly Coors helps players, but Braun is hitting nearly .100 points better at Miller. And check out these splits:

 

T vs Righty: .799. vs Lefty: .932

 

B vs Righty: .844 vs Lefty: 1.467

 

And like I said, Tulo's defense is freakishly good. Look at their range factors: 2.10 for Braun, 5.42 for Tulo. For comparison, Theriot's RF was 4.08 this year.

I'd rather have Tulowitzki on my team because we have an offensive hole at SS and...quite the opposite at 3b.

 

I really think Lou should win manager of the year. I'll be the first person to say that the manager means very little, or at least a lot less than most people think, but Lou definitely made a great difference this year.

 

Given the roster and resources this year, does Dusty get us to the playoffs? Absolutely not.
