NLDS scheduled to start on Wed...I would think that a few of these playoffs would take place on Mon/Tues so that wouldn't push things back too much.

Wait... what? Why would the playoff schedule change? If there are two days between the end of the season and the start of the playoffs, that would be fine.

At one point, a potential five way tie would have required an insane number of one game playoffs.

Not likely, but you could end up with a 4-way tie 89-73. Mets Phillies, Rockies, Padres.

If there's a 4 way tie, on Monday team A plays team B and team C plays team D. The winners of each game play on Tuesday to determine the Wild Card champ. Am I missing something here?

If there are more than 2 ties, there will need to be more than 2 games/days.
