My dad is a Dodgers fan, so I root for them when they are in the playoffs and the Cubs aren't.

Ha ha, same here. I rarely have secondary teams, but the Dodgers are the one -- baseball is the only sport my dad and I have different rooting interests (though he has become a secondary Cub fan on my behalf).

For this weekend the Padres (especially since the Cubs can't take care of their own business). Normally I don't have a second team. Cubs all the way. That would change if Charlotte ever gets a team (although the Cubs would still clearly be #1 with me).

I voted hate them all, but I sorta like the Braves only because I've gotten to watch a lot of their players in AA.

I've seen some of the Marlins' players in AA (Carolina Mudcats), but I just can't root for them given the Cubs' recent history with the Marlins.

I chose the Braves though I don't root for them. I only like them because I became a baseball fan a year or so before the Maddux left and went to Atlanta. So, since I was able to get Braves games on tv, and really liked Maddux, I would watch them and hope he did well...just not against the Cubs. I haven't really paid much attention to them the last few years. I don't root for any other nl team.

i grew up near philadelphia, so it's the phillies for me. They have some very good homegrown position players, and it's fun to root for a team that can do that sort of thing.

Diamondbacks right now don't have a long enough history to be offensive to me. Once living in AZ helps where I saw sammy hit his first grand-slam and all the great ST games

both of my other teams are in the AL: the Cleveland Indians and the Kansas City Royals, but they're not even close to the Cubs.

I don't know that you can really have a 2nd favorite in the NL unless you were raised in a split household. AL teams are fine to root for, but not somebody you're actively fighting with for most of the season.
