Devils win

Woo!!!

4 goals, that's a season high right?

Nah, they scored 6 once. But 4 is still shocking. I thought we'd just win every game 2-1.

Have you been to the Prudential Center yet? Or did Barry Melrose scare you away? I'm like 15 minutes away from it and I might be going soon.

Freaking Blackhawks are doing just enough to keep faint hopes alive without actually making up any ground. But I think it can be good for a young team like this to play well down the stretch, even if all it does is mess up their draft status.

I've been at college, so I haven't had the chance yet. But I''ll get there by the end of the season or next season, hopefully. I've heard good things.

I never knew his name cuz I was a kid, but when I recall the PA announcer, it's always that voice. Glad to hear it tonight.

we're going to see the Coyotes and the Senators tonight in Phoenix. You wouldn't believe the sorts of tix that are still available, despite these 2 teams being pretty darn good. Anyhoo, am looking forward to seeing Bryzgalov since I've got him in my fantasy league!

i was out with some friends last evening, one of whom is a devils fan. he was watching the game on his laptop, and i was shocked to see the devils win a boring, low-scoring game in overtime! first time for everything, i guess.

more clown shoes referee work in the NHL. DiPietro intentionally lifts the net off its moorings to prevent a goal in the second period - basically the same thing happened recently, but the pens were awarded a goal - and the NHL doesn't allow the goal. then bill guerin, who's generally a piece of crap, throws a dirty elbow/forearm at the head of scottie upshall; probably should be five and a game, or at least four. jason smith comes after guerin and gets 4 for roughing, while guerin gets 2. then in the third period, the fishsticks score a goal and scottie upshall gets hit after the puck is in, and upshall gets the only 2 for unsportsmanlike conduct.

nhl referees must be the blindest bastards in sports. everyone is noticing it, and buttman doesn't do a thing. he makes bud selig look like pete rozelle.

and of course the devils win yet another low-scoring game in the last minute/overtime. if they had a pythagorean record in the nhl, i'm pretty sure they'd be outperforming it by about 20 points.

suggestions:

1) hope you like organ. the devils love organ like christopher walken loved cowbell in that snl skit. devils going on the power play? organ. devils give up a goal? organ. devils take a penalty? MORE ORGAN!

2) drink plenty of caffeinated beverages.

3) don't leave your seat except during intermissions; you don't want to miss the goal.

4) probably don't want to go out in newark after the game

5) get your tickets early; the dozens of devils fans out there might make it hard to find tickets if you wait til the last minute.

oh man it's gotta suck to be nicklas backstrom right about now.

What happened?

Wow, that was bad. All the more reason for the Calder to go to either Kane or Toews :)

they can say he was just trying to clear the puck, but it looked like a Grade A Brain Fart to me. I have hard time believing he didn't shoot the puck

so the flyers took a 3 goal lead against one of the worst teams in the league (maple laffs), but were getting thoroughly outshot all game. the laffs finally chipped away and potted 3 goals in the third, and would've won outright in regulation except for a marvelous save by biron with about a minute left. then the laffs score in OT to win it.

when you have a roster as talented as the flyers and you're blowing 3-goal leads against bad teams and getting outshot every night, who do you blame? if you're a normal organization, you blame the coach immediately. hopefully ed snider and paul holmgren have enough sense to see the john stevens is completely outclassed as a coach in this league.

and a special thanks to randy jones for the laffs' third goal. jones should get an assist on that play. i can't even count how many goals he is personally responsible for giving up this year. good thing he has been in the lineup night in and night out, but people who actually know how to play good positional hockey and not piss the puck away 20 times a game are sitting and watching from the press box. f*** you stevens.
