- 1.0 game up on MIL; tied in the L column

- Day off tomorrow and Monday / no days off left for MIL

- 11 games left for MIL; a 4-gamer, 3-gamer, and another 4-gamer; 1 A [ATL] / 2 H [stL & SD]

 

I'm gonna be off (vacation that starts tomorrow afternoon, goes through next Sunday), but I'm not sure how much I'll gonna be able to take of watching the Cubs' last 9 games [& keeping an eye on what MIL is doing].

 

These last 11 days of the season are gonna be "Maalox Mashers". Although, if the Cubs were to take 2 of 3 from PIT and ATL cound find a way to win 3 of 4 vs MIL this weekend, going into those final 6 games, w/ a 2.5 game lead, would be a bit easier on the ole ticker.

I agree. That would put the Brewers in a position to have to do something like a split, sweep, split just to tie.

Going to be a crazy last 9 games. If you simply go by opposition, we should have this one in the bag...knock on wood. You just know that Atlanta and San Diego are not going to phone it in. I wouldn't say the same about our opposition.

Marlins 'fans' took way too much joy in silencing the Cubs four years ago. I have a feeling there will be a better Marlins fan turnout for that series just to yell Steve Bartman's name at Cubs fans.

I think that's the lock scenario. I think 5-4 would still get them in. However the way these two teams go it'll probably end with a one game playoff after they have gone 4-5 and 6-5.

I want to see a game where Marshal gets in, he should be used in some way. No use just affects confidence and control and he has a nasty curve-ball. Plus his head seems more stable than Z

It would be nice for SD to cool down a bit so they are playing for their playoff lives against the Brew Crew in the last series. The worst thing is if SD has nothing to play for and decides to rest everyone for the playoffs.

 

That said, if the Cubs don't pull this one out, they can only blame themselves.

Thats exactly what I think will happen with Pujols out. Wainwright might be good for a victory in that series though. Who knows.
