Reds TV just said game is under protest

lol, because like the game is so important for them. And has a protest ever turned out into anything besides an apology from Selig?

Can someone explain exactly what Lou did wrong?

Posted
My only worry with the protest is because of Seligula and his Milwaukee ties, but I'm pretty confident it'll be a non-issue.

Won't be an issue.

There's something special about this group.

what is this protest stuff about?

i missed everything up until the seventh

on a double switch, lou walked half way to the mound first, then back to the ump to give him the switch

The Reds announcers are becoming my least favorite announcers in all of baseball. They absolutely hate the Cubs.

lou piniella made a double switch, but apparently you have to do it before you cross the foul line. lou crossed the foul line then went to the ump.

for a protest to hold up it has to directly adversely effect the team, and i don't think the double switch will hold up to that scrutiny.

Are they protesting that bogus out call in the 4th (was it?) when Phillips came off the bag well before getting the force out but was called out anyhow??

Nothing.

The protest is regarding Lou's double switch. The Reds said are protesting because Lou didn't IMMEDIATELY tell the ump what he was doing. But it was completely legit, the Reds are just being jackasses. Seriously, he didn't break any rules whatsoever.

well, i thought, because this happened a couple weeks back, that so long as the pitcher has not stepped on the mound, that the manager can still double switch...

Random brewerfan.net rant of the night:

I am so freaking tired of the Cubs's luck especially this last week or so. Every bounce, and every little thing is going their way. On that triple by Ramirez, Hopper makes a diving attempt that he almost caught. he would've caught that against the Brewers. It's just so depressing. The Brewers do everything they have to do, and it looks like they are going to pull even with the Cubs who are 3 outs away from defeat and what happens?? Ughhhhh I hate to say it but it just doesn't seem to me that destiny is smiling on the Brewers and I'm afraid they are going to come up just a bit short. What really sucks about it is the Cubs have NO BUSINESS, absolutely NONE being in 1st place. They are NOT as talented as the Brewers. It may sound like sour grapes, but it's really not when I say I have watched and listened to a number of Cubs games this year and they have had so much luck go their way. So many fluky things have happened that have allowed them to win some games this year.

Remember this game guys...I have a feeling this is a game we'll look back on when everything is said and done.

It would be wonderful to check the highlights of the 2007 World Series DVD.
