My gf got home after a bunch of meetings and crap and I was talking to her on AIM, going on and on about the cubs game and Ron Santo going crazy and what not. Not very sensitive on my part, but she tried to act interested....sweet girl.

the outcry if they over turned this game would be waayyyyyy worse than what mlb would want to deal with. its going to be just riots if they overturn it.

because, as I have said, it's a two step process. not only did the umps misinterpret the pinetar rule, the misinterpretation certainly had an outcome on that game, ie. taking away a three run homer and declaring the batter out instead.

 

But it was immeditate after the AB. They did wait to play 4 more innings.

 

I have no idea what you are talking about? on both plays the protest was immediately lodged and in both games they continued play until the end of the game. that's the way protests work.

In general, if no one has replied to a thread in weeks, please let it die. If you have something genuinely worthwhile to add it's OK to resurrect it, but please don't resurrect it just to emote, spam, or basically say "me too". When in doubt, create a new thread with a link to the old one, and mention that you want to add something new to the old thread.

 

And, for a while, people were bumping old threads, ie - signings of players that caused a lot of arguments back and forth, and rubbing it in people's faces if they said something that wasn't favorable about said player now doing well.
