The REDS are playing this game under protest? What a joke.

Yeah, that's just a prick move.

They just love playing us to pull us out of the playoffs. Nice job Soriano. What a freaking dolt.

Soriano's running looked really scary.

His brain looks a lot worse. I don't even care if he gets injured, he needs to stop running his way into easy outs.

wait a sec, so if the Cubs come back win this game, it's not gonna count?

no. they will look to see whether the umpiring error made a difference in the outcome of the game.

about the only protest ever upheld and resulted in replaying a game was the George Brett pinetar incident.

I'm following on gamecast and I can tell Soriano is at fault for this based on the reactions in the game thread, but how does one actually get caught in a fielder's choice at third base when there was no force?

Definitely possible.

Yeah the Reds protest a game that means nothing to them, in which they have gotten the benefit of the doubt on several calls. Meanwhile the Astros called to ask me if I could pitch against the Brewers. Seems on the level to me.

No need to worry...The mighty Reds bullpen is strong like bull.

I'm not excusing Soriano's running, it was really dumb, but Keppinger was dumb to throw to 3rd on that. Runner on 3rd vs. runner on 2nd isn't a big deal whereas, there's more risk of not getting the out there going to 3rd compared to 1st. Who cares if it's a guy on 3rd with 2 outs. The slight risk of 1st and 3rd with 1 out isn't worth it.
