Great, Pat Cowan is out with a knee sprain. That better not morph into some sort of ACL/MCL tear. If Olson isn't ready for the next game, we might see Forcier take off his redshirt or Osaar Rasshan move back to QB (former QB who converted to WR this season).

He looked to be in pretty bad pain. I wouldn't be surprised if it'll be an injury that puts him out for a few weeks at the minimum.

And Washington is really stupid. Seriously, they have a walk-on QB playing. Just stack the box and stop the run. How hard is that, Willingham?

they are... the last two plays there have been 9 guys in the box and they still can't stop the run.

Good to see UCLA can impose their will in the trenches against Washington after they couldn't against an injury-ravaged Utah.

Well now they are because there was only 4 minutes left in the game and UCLA was just trying to run the clock out. The first two drives that the UCLA 3rd string QB was in, they didn't have the box stacked.

So now that im over the beating he took, how can Tebow not be the Heisman favorite right now? Hes going to be on a top ten team (at least). He's going to finish with 3500 yards passing and 1000 yards rushing. (Right now hes on pace for 3800/1200)

To put that into perspective, only two players have ever had 2,000 passing yards and 1,000 rushing yards in NCAA history. Woodrow went 2,360/1,004 in 2001. Brad Smith did it in 2005 and 2002 2,304/1,301, 2,333/1,029, respectively.

Tebow is on pace for a 35:4 TD:INT ratio with the INTs being because of incorrect route-running. Obviously he won't keep up that pace on the picks. Tebow is on pace for 25 running TDs too! Dantzler had 21 passing TDs and 10 rushing TDs. Smith went 15/7 and 13/16. Tebow already beat one of those rushing TD seasons....

He may not wind up with 3500/1200 but if he's healthy and comes even remotely close to those numbers, he's gotta be the favorite.

I agree, he has to be the Heisman favorite right now.

Yay, UCLA is at 3-1 now. Maybe we can sneak into the top 25 with a win over Oregon State.

You know, I was happy when Ball State almost beat Michigan last year. That was a game that we had no business winning.

But this game pissed me off. We should have beaten Nebraska.

How do you go up 37-28, with the ball, with like 10 minutes left, and throw a pick-six? HOW??? Nate Davis threw for 422 yards and 3 TDs and scored another on the ground, but I can't be happy with him. Dante Love had 214 yards receiving, but dropped what would have been the game-winning TD on the last drive. I can't be happy with him. I can't be happy with any of it. I suppose it's a positive sign for the program that I'm pissed after a 1-point loss to Nebraska in Lincoln.

If this team had shown up against Miami and not thrown that pick-six, BSU would be 4-0 and on their way to the top 25 if they kept winning. The team is that close to breaking through.

If they play like this, there's really no reason to not finish 10-2 - a team with an offense like ours should beat Illinois and IU on the road and shouldn't lose any MAC games.

Uggh...I hate this. I've been here 4 years, and in that time we've come damn close to beating a big conference team 4 times (BC - 2004, IU - 2006, Mich - 2006, and Nebraska - 2007). This 'so close' feeling is too common.

I'm a Duke fan, and Duke was in a similar situation today. I hear ya, brother.

I don't know how much UM will win by but I feel pretty confident saying they will beat Penn State.

I love being right.

Oh and LOL at Wisconsin struggling to beat Iowa at home.

UCD finally played a complete football game (well, except for the 13 penalties for 127 yards) and beat Northeastern. They should be 3-1 right now but instead are 2-2. Now we'll basically have to win out - well, a loss to San Jose St. wouldn't kill the team next week - to make the playoffs. Either way, that's not likely.

lots of people patting themselves on the back for picking a 3 point underdog who hasn't lost a game to penn state since 1996.

Congrats to Illinois. They played a strong game and were clearly the better team. They didn't bring quite as many fans as I expected though, though they were pretty boisterous. Fun game, despite the result.

Playing against a more talented team, Indiana couldn't afford many turnovers -- but, wow, did they shoot themselves in the foot with key turnovers. The Illini dominated the trenches, which is a recurring problem for IU over the years. Of IU's two best players, one had a great game (Tracy Porter) while another struggled, despite catching a TD pass (James Hardy). IU still has a strong shot at a bowl, but the ceiling is likely 7-5 now. Oh, finally, I said 34-21 Illini so I was close. Wish I would've been wrong.

Iowa played a good game defensively. Offensively, both teams struggled, and Iowa's TD was given to them as it was obviously offensive pass interference. Overall, pretty good matchup.

And there is no shame in Wisconsin struggling against Iowa at home. I mean it could be worse, they could of lost to Appl. State.

I love that I can say this to any UM fan, and that's the end of the argument.

"Oh man we totally smoked you 38-0, you guys looked pathetic out there!!!"

"Yeah, but you lost to Appalachian State."

Really? From my equally biased perspective, I thought they were pushing each other the entire way. Both guys had their hands on each other while the ball was in the air and neither gained an advantage. You're never going to get that called on the offense when the CB doesn't turn his head to make a play on the ball. I thought it was a no call.

That's a loss I can live with. Defense was great. That 3rd down pass interference penalty on Dalton late in the 3rd/early in the 4th was huge. Offense was awful in the first half and our first quarter injuries (starting TE, #1 WR, starting RG) didn't help. Wisconsin was blitzing a ton and our o-line couldn't handle it. They completely shut down our run game and we did a good job on theirs until the 4th. Wisky had to have blown a coverage on that last play. If Cheney doesn't stumble I think he catches that ball in stride for a TD. I can't believe those safeties let him run by them.

This is a loss they can build on or they can go the other way. It reminds me a lot of 2004 when we got killed at ASU, then went and played Michigan to the wire in Ann Arbor but lost and then ran the table. I don't think we can do that this year, but I think they could get to 9 wins if they use this the right way and the o-line develops.

still big on the Big 10 bashing, but seems that Big East chatter has died down the past couple weeks. I love it when you're wrong.

that's just ridiculous. Ike was looking for the ball the entire way with no hand play on his part whatsoever. look at the replay, and ask yourself this question..."why did he go for the ball with only one hand?"

the answer of course is the other hand was full of jersey pulling Ike to the ground.

Yeah I know that's why he only used one hand. I didn't deny that DJK was making contact.

You're right, I just watched it again and I was wrong about him not looking for the ball. I still think there was contact each way though. Ikegwonu was leaning his body into him and his right hand was in there. DJK definitely pulled him down more than I thought live last night though. Could have been called but it was probably tough to see from the angle. You don't see much offensive PI called unless there's a two-handed pushoff.

They did let them play all night though, only 8 total penalties. The only call against Iowa I had a gripe with was the pass interference on Dalton late but that was still a stupid play.
