Man, I want to see Soto do well more than any other kid we've brought up (besides maybe Pie). I guess because I have this perception that he'll be the next Russell Martin.

 

I have this nagging feeling that he's been typecast by the Cubs, and so no matter what he does he will never get a real shot.

That's what I'm afraid of, too. I thought maybe his MVP would get their attention, but I wouldn't be surprised if they gave Kendall an extension.

I just got home, and was listening to the game on WGN. Nobody can give a game the feeling of pesamism like Ron Santo can. Cubs can be up by 6 in the 9th, and the other teams leadoff man walks, and its over for Ron.
