The Cubs still have entirely too many games against Houston and Cincy remaining in order to book those playoff tickets.

The Cardinals did. Struggled against bad teams like the Cubs and the likes of Mateo, Marmol, Walrond, and then went into the playoffs and beat up on the Peavys and Verlanders of baseball.
