Meh. I think Z 'earning his money' this game is a much bigger deal than Sori doing so. His last few starts have been rough, and his last one in SF was definitely a rally killer for a team which seemed to have remembered how to win for the week prior. If Sori is the difference between this team's failure and success against Sheets and the extended use the bullpen is sure to get behind him, then the offense doesn't deserve whatever runs they get. Z needs to allow his bullpen a little breathing room.

I really like Theriot..I dont know about you guys,but, I really get frustrated how he trys to take every single pitch the other way..You might as well put on the Adam Dunn shift on the guy..He stands way to far off the plate ,so he's getting called strikes like 10 inches on the outside of the plate and everything he's getting he keeps popping up or some other out and its like the defenses know this guy is obviously going opposite field..He used to hit doubles in the left field gap and down the line, I wish he could keep doing that so the defense dosent know which side of the field he's going..For instance DLee or Rameriz..You can never tell if theyre pulling the ball their way or going opposite..But with Theriot,you kno every single time he's going to the right side..

Color me confused :lol: . I think you're trying to say you dislike him which still doesn't have much merit. He's one of the few Cubs who has taken pitches and he's probably the Team MVP in the 2nd half because of his ability to get on base often.

Somebody needs to tell Fonzie to lay off the first pitch or two tonight...make Sheets work early....

The Cubs own Sheets and this is his first start off the DL after no rehab and lingering injuries. Normally, I'd say this means the Cubs will get shut out, but I am pretty confident that the Cubs will hit around Sheets. Cubs win this one 8-3.

Sheets hasnt pitched in 60 days, this seems like desperation. I have a good feeling about the game tonight.

Now Soriano may 'see' more pitches in a plate appearance than Theriot but i would wager thats because he fouls off an extraordinary amount of pitches not because he is 'laying' off pitches. But in the end he makes the pitcher work more. Tonight id like for him to either 'see' more pitches or 'layoff' a couple more than last night, whichever makes Sheets work :wink:

This is a game the brewers absolutely have to win. And they know it. That's why Sheets is pitching. But that's exactly why we need to win. To send them down even further in the standings.

Our ace vs. their Ace. Zambrano needs to win to prove he is the better Ace on the better team. This is going to be one big game if you think about all of that.

It's one thing to be optimistic about Z coming around. It's reaching even more to be optimistc about our offense against Sheets. If you're going to take that a step further and be optimistic about the DisAstros' chances against the Cards, that's just crazy talk.
