Squandered opportunities. And another loss against a no-talent, meatball-tossing, left-handed pitcher.

Tomorrow is an absolute must-win game, because there's no way the Brewers lose tomorrow.

I can't wait to get the hell out of here. I hate playing the DBacks.

I'm really hoping they don't win the West, though it's not as if the Cubs fare any better against the Padres. (sorry for tempting the baseball gods with playoffs talk)

The one bright spot is our starting pitchers, minus Z, the last time through the rotation have looked great. Lets hope it keeps up.

They'll need to be damn near perfect if this is our offense now.

Yea, I hope Soriano comes out slugging, and gets on one of his hot streaks. But I like our chances if our pitchers can pitch the way they have this last time though.

I know this isn't a popular thought right now, but going in, I would have settled for a 1-2 series this weekend. Yeah, you WANT to win every game, but a 3-3 trip ain't the end of the world and we know we'll still be a .5 up on MIL starting that HUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGEEEEE series on Tuesday night - if the worst overall scenario occurs tomorrow afternoon.

Isn't Lincecum pitching? How is there no way they lose tomorrow?

Yea, Im just happy knowing that we are guaranteed to be in 1st place when we meet the Brewers Tuesday night.

Because Bonds won't be in the lineup and Fielder's back from his suspension.

I don't think the Wild Card will come out of the West, and I do think the Padres will eventually catch up to and pass the D-Bags once they fall back to earth. That would mean the Cubs' first-round opponent would be the Mets, and in that case the Cubs would get absolutely steamrolled.

If we got steamrolled by the Mets we would have the consolation of knowing we got beat by a team with solid talent. I still don't think the DBacks are good. They're winning games, but I strongly suspect they are living off career years from more than one player.

This game was terribly predictable.

Yes and no. Predictable in that we got beat by a lefty, but the fact that Davis really didn't have his usual control problems was compounded by the fact that the Cubs hitters tried to take pitches, but the ump was giving him the call on balls low and outside.

Since the D-Bags pitchers just pounded the ball outside, we really didn't have much of a chance.

It reminded me of that Kyle Lohse game earlier in the year.

I don't think they are. Who, besides Byrnes, is really having a career year? Drew is hitting .236, Upton is hitting .220, and Young is hitting in the .230s. I think they are a good team who is finding ways to win now, in a couple of years they are going to be very good.

Let's say the Padres do catch up and win the division. The Diamondbacks are currently 6 games up on any other wildcard team with 32-34 games to play. What team is going to possibly get hot enough to make up that large of a lead in that small of time?
