Pretty hard to watch when teams are just going to pound the outside against every hitter we have, then an ump comes along and decides to give them 2 feet off the plate to work with.

Lou should have come out and got in the ump's grille tonight. This is stupid. I don't care if the ump gives it to both teams, it's still just plain old NOT A STRIKE.

Yup, exactly. The Cubs are fighting for a playoff spot and getting screwed with a ridiculous strike zone, but the new Lou just sits there and takes it.

Why does even a known fiery manager become a teddy bear when he puts on Cubbie blue? Not saying he should blow up all the time, but Lou's never done this in his entire career. Why?

I dunno, but it seems like that 1 fiery Lou episode is all we are going to get. He said he was embarrassed big time by it.

Baseball has become so pussified. Billy Martin, Whitey Herzog and Earl Weaver would have never lasted in this modern era, because they'd never say they were embarrassed, because they always got upset for a reason.

Valverde has lost 4 games, so it's not like he's unhittable.

But I'm sure we'll make him look that way.

The Cubs have never touched him

I dont know how a Cubs hitter can even take a pitch heading outside right now.

Have the Cubs ever really hammered a pitcher before over his career? It seems like every pitcher owns them anymore.

I've seen better called strike zones in a little league game.

I think this ump came over from the LLWS. At this point I dont blame the Cubs at all for swinging at bad pitches, they have no clue where the zone is with this jackass. By the way who is the ump?
