That was NOT a strike.

He missed the pitch he should have crushed. It was close enough with two strikes that you don't watch it go by.

That pitch wasnt even close, noway you can fault him for taking it. This strike zone is BS and how Lou can sit on his ass and not say something about it is beyond me.

If this ump called every game, we'd be back to the dead ball era. He has a huge zone from inside to outside.

Not in the slightest. The idea that people who put effort into their swings(and look bad when they miss) are "swinging for the fences" shows a profound misunderstanding of how home runs happen.

I beg to differ Tiger. just cuz a guy puts effort into his swing doesnt mean he isnt pressing for the big hit. MLB hitters do swing for the fences, profound misunderstanding or not.

That ump is ridiculous. He's been giving that pitch all night, and only the D-Backs seem to be hitting that spot. Davis has walked 80 guys in 150 innings and he was getting that freaking call all night. Led to 1 walk. And worse, he was giving him the high and inside pitch also.

This looks like the kind of guy that can't figure out a consistent strike zone.

Exactly, there is nothing that can be done with that pitch, its bs. Lou just sitting there is a joke too though

3 pitch K for Worst?? mega-

Can't come up with a better nickname than that?

Uh no... when he starts pitching better consistantly, I'll start working on a better nick.

A 450' strike and a long 2B - that was a meat ball. Niiiiiiiice.

He must have forgotten the effect a manager getting visibly upset with the umpires has on his players.

Pretty hard to watch when teams are just going to pound the outside against every hitter we have, then an ump comes along and decides to give them 2 feet off the plate to work with.

Lou should have come out and got in the ump's grille tonight. This is stupid. I don't care if the ump gives it to both teams, it's still just plain old NOT A STRIKE.

Wuertz is so predictable after two outs. If you have an at bat against him, just don't swing. Does he ever throw that slider for a strike?

I can't think of a better nickname for someone that walks a guy after being ahead 0-2.

Wuertz needs to learn how to pitch with an 0-2 count. Four in the dirt isn't a great idea.

Unless you're pitching against Jacque Jones.

Very good response :)

Yup, exactly. The Cubs are fighting for a playoff spot and getting screwed with a ridiculous strike zone, but the new Lou just sits there and takes it.

Disappointing. You ever think that the Braves got those calls because Bobby Cox was such a redass and got ejected all the time? I do.
